New Products

Several new products have been added to simcountry. This is part of a larger rollout of new products.
Introduction of new products starts with 0 usage to give corporations time to stock up before they actually start using them. Usage is then slowly ramped up to give the markets time to adjust.

Carbon was added recently. Usage is currently ramping up slowly to its intended target.

Displays and Electric Motors have been added today. They are integrated into the production economy but currently stand on 0 usage.

Seriously: Look at the Help section and repair the code-bug that adds a new line everytime a new thread is posted

What are Displays used for ? I suppose you must mean an item similar to a computer monitor for use with computers and electronics stuff

@BorgQueen
Not sure why that keeps happening. Rest assured an engineer just got slapped for having missed this glitch on 1 subforum.

@Michael
Displays will be mostly used as a resource in the construction of any product that has a built in display. Mobile devices and computers for example

Also shuttles, bombers, and fighters?
Or is they more like circa 1940s? (which would be really weird since we have space travel)

@jdlech
If you look at for example shuttles. They use computers as a component, which (will) require displays.

"Usage is then slowly ramped up to give the markets time to adjust."

Could you please give a time-frame for that? :-)

I can't really give a time frame. Every new product is a different set of variables.
We choose when to increase usage depending on how well the markets are adjusting.

@Jonni I don't think you have slapped that engineer hard enough! :)

I noticed the in code that the hr tag is being assigned an invisible class. This is not working quite obviously. I assume the number of hr tags match the number of forum topics so would assume its in the looping code for generating that subforums topics listing.

I hope this helps.

@BorgQueen I think that might help clear that bug... one day.

Is it a bug or a feature?

The whole world went to heck the day they invented OOP.

Would be nice to have the economy activated...

Any time now...

"Usage is then slowly ramped up to give the markets time to adjust."

Is this still ever going to happen?

I'll consider that a "no" :-)

It can be painfully slow. I remember investing big in Carbon when it came out, and I'm still sitting on a ton because the price is still in the crapper.
