I remember joining and participating in SimCountry back around 2008 or so (+/-1 year).

Even then, I was 'elderly', compared to the target market.

I really like and respect SimCountry. I've just recently re-joined to give it another go. I still think the whole outer-space thing is really awful, but I still enjoy the general simulation.

There's been a general growth, from the time I've ever encountered SimCountry, towards more rapid pseudo-time. I'm old and decrepit and useless, i.e. over 40 years old. I like this game, but I have other more compelling commitments.

Can't we have a really slow and sluggish world, where we check in once per week (or two weeks)?

I wish there was more global and international activity; I mean, diplomacy and discussion and role-playing. Looking around recently, it's not like it used to be.

Many have the same wish about more international activity and diplomacy. Unfortunately, it has largely been replaced with game-guaranteed protections. War levels are the biggest offender. Even on the "War World".

Hahaha! On the contrary things are rather 'slow and sluggish' as it is now.

I was actually here briefly in the early 2000s, but did not really get into this as I was blown away with the complexity of things and left because my life became very busy.

Now that I have returned, this time around really getting into it, I realize not much has changed as far as game mechanics go. I started again this time on FB but I was looking forward to a lot more activity.

I have found that FB (the "war world") is actually quite peaceful, perhaps maybe even moreso than other worlds? This is, as Aries pointed out, probably mostly due to game protections.

My plan this time around was to try to survive in a chaotic war world. I expected to be swiftly crushed by more experienced players or at least get caught up in world wars (and learn from that experience[s]), but instead I found it was very peaceful, s

Yeah, it got progressively worse after they implemented what amounts to "pay to win". At some point 2005-ish Bad Karma, Silver, Amiata, Leen,Rob, Betsy and a few others of the old bigshots (Bsically: SND -Sociulus Naturae Diaboli) including me where attacking a player and could not take him down, because he spent a shitload of money from his credit card to boost his defenses and kept spending...

I wonder how it is these days, not back again for long enough to claim to have it figured out.

Helloa panchakahq :) Its Nix001 :) I joined around same time. I think I know why the game is not blowing up even though the program should be :)

+1 Aries bro :)

Helloa Vet Guido. Its more about ratios and time than money...even though I have been in-active for a while now. A couple of years ago you could destroy a titan with multiple C3's co-ordinated within ranges, weapon systems and debt :) I bow to my Queen of Battle.

OK...GM....I am wondering if you are asking too much of us for war to break out? For we either spend time or money to become big enough
