So, war changes are on the way. To be honest, I haven't played in months. Just look at my countries! Maybe the new changes will bring new life to the game. Optimistically, assuming this is the case, what should I do?

The game is short trouble makers. I can be one of those, no problem. I might take an apprentice or two and we can make the poor folks who spent time building empires pay for their folly! Heck, that does sound fun.

Alright, I am leaning bomb-thrower. Sorry in advance to my prey. Nothing personal, but you built pretty buildings that are nothing but digital bowling pins waiting for my precious weapons to knock over.

So, who is with me in spreading a terror campaign the likes of which Simcountry has rarely seen and who is here to talk me down?

Maybe Andy can weigh in on this...

Andy will, when he announces the incentive system. He indicated he wanted to pay for wars. I suggested he pay the builders who build outside of FAKE protections, but I don't think he listened. His vote is based on how that incentive system goes.

My guess, is if you pay the bomb throwers, there will be a continued lack of incentive to make anything out of fake protections. With a removal of FAKE protection options on FB, perhaps an exodus from there. I provided my input and more than once I have had to make my point with my game actions.

Oh, and if he thinks adding a few weapons to whatever he ends up defining as a "new" war player will protect them at all, that is funny. He also thought forts blocked and thinks a difficult war is when 20 countries declares war on one of yours. Is anyone coming out of FAKE protections because they think a few units will protect them? No

Oh, on Wendy, she was only a threat to some because the game mechanics protected her style of play. Some game changes have curbed that. I am a much scarier entry to that side of the ball.

Oh, and Putin is first on the list! Someone needs to be made an example of, and we have a volunteer!

All I seem to be seeing at the moment are things like:- "I am a scarier entry to that side of the ball" - All I'm going to say on that comment is this - Your side of the ball is something that can be hit quite hard and far - especially if the person doing the hitting of the ball uses the correct type of bat...

Game mechanics protected a certain player's style of play... hmmm thinking about that comment and the person who made it.... Can you deny that your style of play Mr Aries hasn't benefitted by some of the changes made...hmm I wonder if you think about that one but don't tell anybody?

I am not aware of the changes you are talking about Wildstallion. Help me out. Until you let me know, I cannot confirm nor deny an ambiguous claim about changes to my "benefit".

Perhaps you are not aware Mr. Wildstallion, but I tend to report game mechanics that I find make the game unbalanced, even when I am quite aware of how to benefit from them. The most obvious example was the ease C3 raiding used to be. When I made this account after a 10 year break from the game, it was easy to discern that the greatest generator of player cash at that time, by far, was spending a relatively small amount of time raiding countries to generate many trillions.

After seeing there was no comparable way to generate cash in the game, I started posting about it. For this I wasn't popular, but I knew there was a problem. It was just too easy. Essentially, I was asking why they rest of the game existed. Why run an economy, trade, buy/sell stocks if they are just ways to button push for peanuts next to raiding? So, I conformed, reluctantly, and could raid with the very best of them. Andy used to come to chat at that time and I would literally share my progress with him, saying something like "I had 200T on me at the beginning of the week. Tomorrow, I will be at 800T. I still think raiding is too easy Andy".

So, Mr. Wildstallion. Please let me know what you are talking about. I have benefited no more and no less than anyone else. When I see something that doesn't fit, even to my benefit, I report it. There was a terrible duping bug not too long ago. A huge problem. I experienced it several times, and was quite aware of how to replicate it. I would alter my play, just to avoid it, and I would report it each time, letting the GM know exactly what I had accidentally gained, and where he may find those game assets. Other players did not report it, and intentionally and repeatedly abused it, building some of the largest accounts in the game. The GM did not act promptly. I did. These players would easily wield the most powerful accounts in the game, had I not.

So again, Mr. Wildstallion. What are you talking about and what have you ever done for the game?

I'll admit, I didn't want to see the C3 raiding end; however I did what many others did, adapt. So when someone appears to be benefiting from past changes now, it does not mean they forced the issue to create conditions conducive to whatever they wanted. It just means that they all adapted and adjusted their strategies, which is what a good player should do.

What some of us are concerned about is that some proposed changes are so drastic that they would have unintended consequences. Not only that, it makes me wonder what is the motivation? It has been made clear numerous times that these changes wouldn't make the world safer for less developed players. (I think that might be what "new" player means now, I may be wrong). Nor, do I see how it would make the war game more enjoyable. I may never understand, but who knows...

Sorry if I did not articulate this well.

Who? Since you have been back, have you participated in any PvP whatsoever? And why don't you have the resources? It does require the necessary skill to acquire the right tools. You can't just follow a guide to push buttons for trillions anymore. Your welcome for that.

My current impression is that you couldn't PvP your way out of a wet paper bag.

Lol

I agree with Aries here, and i want to join the bomb throwers!! Admitting to say that its been proven all the players here combined couldn't stop you(Aries) and cheap talk is all i can read on this forum as anyone who actually risks something wont have the nerve to type something.

I have my own thoughts about raiding how it helps/doesent and i would say whether my accuracy there or not like remembered i played years ago that i had restarted and remeber simply raiding at the time war levels were new and raiding level 3 C3 within a week i had 100T in military assets, though this was likely times after that in which stuff changes but reality was the raiding was out of hand. I loved raiding/farming always and believe there should always be somekind of gain from it, even not large.

Imperial Nations Federation on Golden Rainbow is currently the strongest federation there and claim to be invincible. Perhaps the God of War (Aries) should pay them a visit.

I helped write the guide long before you arrived my friend. Raiding was awesome and you broke it. It was the path to greatness and empire building. We recycled numerous forgotten empires, broke them into pieces, and sold them for a profit. I gave away more countries than I sold to new players. It was fun and it kept the game vibrant and alive.

Simlife was good.

Now we have desolation, isolation, stagnation, and no communication. Federations are useless, diplomacy is dead, and the worlds are quiet.

TL,DR Don't complain about changes to the stale world you created.

In certain situations, it's best to see tectonic plates collide under the sea, and then view the magnificent tidal wave it creates.

However, in this scenario, i'll say something.

I completely agree with Johanas.

Johanas: Your "big" accomplishment is that you "helped" write a guide to profit from the easiest system in the game at the time? That is, defeating C3 countries that don't shoot back. Good job? I think..

No, there was no greatness in it. It was nothing more than who can button mash the longest. The problems you mention about isolation and such have nothing to do with it, as FAKE protections are the core problem, leading to over-reliance on such systems leading to the "single-player" experience I was talking about.

If you are so good at developing strategy, prove it. Can you do anything now? Rise above being a semi-average player? Show it!

Putin: You agree with what? Dumbing down the game to FAKE wars against C3s that don't shoot back for mega-riches? You too can't figure out how to excel other than the game rewarding excessive and mindless button mashing? So sad.

The game is certainly better when it requires skill to excel.

While you can agrue that ending C3 raiding created a purer version of SimCountry. Has it increased the game popularity?

Its one of those things that the cure was worse than the disease.

I have argued for some time that the absence of C3 raiding required some type of PvP replacement. Something that offered incentives for a PvP experience that managed to limit the risk to the player. I suggested Battlegrounds to fill that gap for such players. I believe "Battlegrounds (revised)" posted on the suggestions forum would be quite easy to implement and be a fun alternative to raiding. Check it out.

I have taken breaks before, though they have been longer and more frequent recently, due to lack of motivation. My assets are little changed in total when I take a break, with country expenses coming to a small fraction of my available cash. I did some things earlier this year to catch a few things up, mostly purchase ammo to replace daily use. My activity currently is all to check forums here and there and to extend my entities with gold coins before they expire. Because I believe email notifications still do not work properly, I also check in to make sure I am not at war.

All of them. I have already received applications to join. I may just officially open the "Aries School of the Bomb Throwers". Here, you can learn essential skills like:

- How to maximize "attackers advantage". You can have several times fewer military forces, and can still make that player on your list pay!

- How to properly setup on a country. This involves setting up the map situation in your favor before any of the shooting starts.

- The feint! No one does this better than me. Getting your opponent to misunderstand or underestimate your threat before the shooting starts is key!

That's right. Apply to join the "Aries School for the Bomber Throwers", where our motto is... They will never know what just hit em!
