- Reduction in the cost of Education and Health

Both costs are reduced a bit, due to reduction in the products used and the number of people working in schools, hospitals etc.

This is part of an effort to reduce numbers and improve the profitability of countries.

- More reduction in government costs

The reduction will start in the coming game months and will be gradual. It can take some days to reach its full effect.

- Reduction in pricing of defensive weapons

This is a next step in a longer process to reduce the cost of defense.
Both weapons and ammunition cost have been slightly reduced.

There are also reductions in the price of large items in Simcountry, including Cargo shuttles, some military bases, fortifications and navy carriers.

The reductions are in the base price. The real price will depend on the markets.

- Garrisons

Garrisons are now more like regular military units and invading forces cannot move past garrison as they could before.

- Placing many map items on to of each other

This practice was never intended on a large scale and the numbers are now limited. Some stacking must remain possible because many countries have more items/targets on the map than map cells in the country.
When numbers decline, stacking could be limited even more.

Current maps are not changed.

- Cities becoming larger

This is the third such change and the numbers of cities of all sizes continues to decline. This will reduce the numbers of items on maps and may, as we hope, reduce the time involved in wars.

- Tuning of weapons and Ammo

some weapons are becoming stronger and some targets too. Some weapons can shoot more frequently resulting in more damage to targets. Fortifications are now a little harder to destroy but their numbers will decline. The changes are small.

Some defensive army units are becoming larger. and so do Garrisons. This is done to increase the defensive power of the army. The changes are small but may be repeated after we review some detailed war logs that will allow us to draw conclusions on the results of these changes.

- Data collection on military power

We have added functions that collect data about numbers and types of units in each country and started collecting data on PvP wars, details of the number, and destructive power of attacks, losses on both sides etc.

The data will be used in future functions that will rank countries in their ability to fight PvP wars, and their track records while doing so.

- Max number of countries with war protection in an empire on FB.

The number is reduced to 10 several weeks ago. We will reduce the number to 8 early Thursday Sept. 27.

- Share values

recent updates make it harder to force the price of shares to increase by placing share buy orders that cannot be completed because all the share owners are in fact one player and no shares are offered.

We have successfully limited such fake transactions and we let share values decline if there are no buyers or sellers and the PE values are beyond any realistic value.

The results are becoming visible on the share markets. More corporations now have reasonable Price Earning (PE) values and with it, also more realistic market values.

We have seen the the process works correctly and will make it a bit faster in the coming days.

Reading these changes, they look pretty good. I am pretty alarmed by a casual look into them though. I mentioned on another thread about what happens when cities with a garrison disappear. What happens to the weapons and ammo? I think it got lost in other discussion on the thread, and I received no answer. So, with these notes, I went to look right at the effect of a country reduction in cities. This is what I found:

-My countries out of war protection used to have around 240-290 cities. This appears to have been reduced by 2/3rds and my observation is that the new cap of cities in a single country is now 100, rather than 300.

-As an example, CC2 on LU, now has 89 cities. I expect some 180 or so have been wiped from the map. Alarmingly, I don't see where my garrison weapons and ammo have gone. They are certainly not present in the country stock or the reserves.

This is very scary Andy. I am not talking about a few weapons. CC2 doesn't even happen to be one of my larger LU countries. Extrapolating the effect to my LU empire, I would estimate I lost some 1600+ city garrisons. A current garrison in one of CC2's remaining cities has the current inventory:

anti aircraft missile batteries 150
anti aircraft missiles 4,488
defensive missile batteries 260
defensive missiles 7,782
missile interceptor batteries 220
missile interceptors 13,182
nuclear defense batteries 2
nuclear defense missiles 20

In summary, it has 632 weapons and 25,472 ammo. If I just lost 1600 garrisons, that comes to over 1,000,000 weapons over 40,000,000 missiles. Please tell me I am missing something and my missing assets are safe somewhere.

With the weapon changes have there been or will there be updates to the weapon documentation on the site?

The weapon documentations is generated automatically, based on the actual data.
The changes already show in the document.

Odd ball question.

Why does the game stop tracking house wives at 65? Is it because this is the retirement age, and their is not longer a reason to differentiate between house wives and the working class?

And do house wives draw pensions and IF funds as if they'd spent their life working? If their is not longer a difference?

Also, while I'm thinking about it. Is their any plan to remove the Pensions stationary number. Considering the player that broke the feature hasn't shown his face in years.

After 65, everyone is considered retired and gets the same treatment.
This is how this was done from the start.

Pensions were not done correctly at the start and brought to a soft landing some time ago.

I will have a look into it. There is much more that can be done.

Andy,

With the end of the month coming up I have a question regarding scoring. How are the war scores calculated? I was looking at some of the scores and they made little or no sense when I was trying to read them. In fact I think I might have found an error in the "War Protection and War Level Contribution" scoring system that needs to be addressed before the end of next month.

One player with an empire of 7 countries at war level 4 has a score increase of 350 points, but then myself a player of 6 nations of war level 11 receives a reduction of 164 points. It almost seems as the higher war levels are penalized.
In fact one nation in the top ten is a single nation with war level 1 and gains an extra 34 points to their score.

I also noticed a semi-pointless trend. As I went though the number anyone who ranked their empire to be judge as peaceful for game level grading (ALWAYS) saw a reduction in there points.

At war level 11 that should be around an extra 600 score point boost, but because I'm set to be judged as peaceful I'm punished and deprived of near 700-800 score points which would place me in the number one spot.
I even compared my level to Aries (who is another war level 11), He gained over 600 point boost(ranked defensively), but myself(ranked peacefully) saw a subtraction of 165 points.

I'm not complaining saying I want free coins or anything, but I think the GM need to look at this issue for next month. If someone chooses to be ranked peacefully or defensively that is their personal choice and indicative to their personal play style, but a peacefully judge empire shouldn't be punished should they want to expand into the war game well keeping that judgement preference.

I second Aries comment. I would also like to know what happens to units in "removed" cities.

Someone made the comment about allowing player enterprises to be able to build more than 6 corps in a country. Is this something that may be changing in a future update as well?
