Population growth will be enhanced for all full members.
Population growth will be faster and unlimited.
This does not mean that numbers will grow very quickly but they will keep growing if the health index of the country is high enough.

We have now seen population growing in a country with more than 250M when the healthcare index was 130+. This will be improved a bit and growth will continue higher.

In free players countries, population growth is more limited and will stagnate when the population number hits 20M.

Some changes will become active after the next upgrade, planned for tomorrow, Feb. 6.

Andy,

Is it possible to ask the GM to check into a possible bug issue? Please check "Melichor" on LU. I also provided the stats in question. If you look at the ages they are all rather balanced. However the over 80 population keeps growing despite all the other groups decreasing. As you can see the population of other elderly groups are shrinking, but only the 80+ grows monthly. As you can see I have disproportional amount of over 80 compared to other groups. If you look on your end from the Game-master longs this has been happening for some time and is starting to cause my nation some problems. In fact I'm paying 20Billion in Social security payments to the age group alone and they represent 25% of my total monthly Social Security payments.

I'm not mad or upset. I'm more just curious to whats going on and if its a fixable issue?

60 to 65 age - 9,146,828 people
65 to 70 age - 7,191,875 people
70 to 75 age - 5,325,448 people
75 to 80 age - 3,784,521 people
> 80 age - 8,361,664 people

Looking forward to this update. This should improve the world economy with more room for corporations in well managed countries.

The upgrade is ongoing now.
The change in population growth is small but it will have a next improvement next week.

There was a harder limit at 300M and it is removed.

Supersoldier,

The country is quite amazing.

Life expectency is 112 years!
never seen this before.

so this group of 80+ is very large indeed.
They just don't die.

Healt index at 180 and increasing.

this group has people in there of 80 to 120.
the other groups cover 5 years.

Andy,

So what your saying is my population is to well taken care of? Thats always good to hear haha

Is there anything the GM can recommend on how to fix this problem? I play via Peaceful game ranking and the 170-180 health index is required by the game level requirements. In fact you guys require them to go over 200(which I'm working on ATM). If its not a game bug then its just something I have to work with, I'm just curious on your recommendation on how to continue.

My entire empire has over 100 life expectancy and if you look at my LU empire you will notice the same trend in all of my nations. This has lead to me to having a lot of elderly and not enough younger workers. This is causing worker shortages, increases in Social security and healthcare costs, and decreasing my overall Financial index.

I'm just wondering if this is something the GM can fix or address via an update to balance out this issue. If you check the Game level requirements on Peaceful you guys require high Healthcare and Financial index. If having a massive elderly population will be a reality for players then either the scores past game level 10 will need to be re-evaluated because having those high requirements are really not realistic.

Hi Andy,

Maybe it is a good time now to also review how "Expected number of births/deaths" are being calculated on "Population numbers and life expectancy" table.
These numbers are very inaccurate, especially for big countries. Having these population updates will make people look at these numbers more often now.

We do not need it needs any fixing.
if you want your country to rank there, you need this health index.
It has consequences and the cost is high.

A president should be proud of such life expectancy and eagerly pay for it.

We plan to add welfare ranking in each world.

Expected number of death will be fixed ASAP.

Andy,

Okay that seems fair enough. I'm assuming with the population caps changing there should be more flexibility. I was just looking at the perspective that with the 300 population cap that if I had a continually decreasing population but an increasing elderly population that it would cause continual economic problems to the point that it's unsustainable and that was where my fear came from.

I mean I understand the high cost associated with health care and that those are requirements for the game levels. I'm just looking at it that those game levels were written quite a long time ago and haven't been updated recently and there's been considerable changes that you and the game Masters have made so I'm just looking out for the populous as a whole. What I will do is I'll give it some time and I'll see how these new population changes do and if it's beneficial to the GM if I notice anything out of the ordinary I'd be happy to bring it to your attention.

Super

Supersoldier
You can increase your population but the number of old people will grow with it.
You cannot kill these people.

It is a small percentage of the population and at health index level 180 or higher, this is unavoidable.

Letsie

There is no hard limit.
The soft limit depends on health care, welfare.

Premium member countries only.

otherwise, the level will probably remain under 20 million.

Set the education priorities for these groups at 0 for some time and numbers will decline due to people retiring.
