Why can't free members have half or a third of the population growth full members get rather than have it stuck to 20M?

Limit the range and ability of free accounts so they cannot rival that of paid member, also to incentive becoming paid member.

Years ago they use to not even let people have a free member, once the membership expired (2 weeks) you had to pay or your country sat until it deregistered. Its good they let people have it free, though they have to limit some things like such which i agree with which i would go into more, but simply put free accounts are easily mutable. Assets in such might not be, but such account is.

In other words. The population is now set to 20m. That is not good. All my countries where set to +40 M. Now i see a decline and it is not right.
The countries are all good. It will be very boring when it is all fixed to 20m.

Well, you should make this temporary, once all free members have only 20M people they should be able to have more than that but only half of the growth full members have

Also, is it me, or does people are leaving the game because of this?

People always threatened to leave is we do this or that and others come in and then ...

We also need some motivation to keep people in the game who play for a very long time and are not contributing.

In the past, we had a limited period of free playing and then you had to make a choice.

There is a very high cost in salaries and hardware/network.
We are wondering about the attitude.

The cost for full membership per month is about the cost of one cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Andy "The cost for full membership per month is about the cost of one cup of coffee at Starbucks."

Sheepman "actually its cheaper :S lol"

Bahahaha, oh the shade, poor starbucks, I'm guessing maybe that's why starbucks isn't massively popular here in Australia XD

But more seriously. I'm glad the GM's see subscription fee's players pay to Simcountry as a form of contribution to the upkeep and development of the game. Sometimes you can wonder if subscribing to something helps improve it, or if it's just inflating profits. Comments from GM about the financial resources provided by players being used to maintain/improve Simcontry are really encouraging me to become a full member.

Personally I find this change of population mechanics is also encouraging me to sign on as a full member. The hard limit of free countries to 20M people. As well as the expansion to the soft limit of natural growth of Premium countries to between 70M-80M, are important factors for me.

Correct me if I'm wrong about the population changes. They were somewhat difficult to understand. Originally I thought they meant that countries could keep naturally growing forever, just growing more slowly at higher population levels. However investigating the demographics of many different player nations has led me to believe there is a new soft cap around 70-80m. Is my understanding correct?

Also I would like to open a CEO in addition to my existing country, which is also an incentive to subscribe.

Personally the two main deterrents against subscribing for me are, the inability to go back to being a free member if you need to cut down on your expenses for a while, and the apparent emphasis on having "more" countries and CEO's, instead of "better". Personally I'm happy to have only one country and take great care of it. I'd like more options to improve a single country, instead of taking on more countries.

Personally something I'd love would be the ability to pay to boost the soft cap of population growth in a single country, I know we can buy population, but the soft cap means that really messes with your demographic distribution.

If anyone can provide further incites about membership to me, I'd be happy to listen. I hope this helps inform GMs about the thought process behind players decisions to become Simcountry members.

Population growth depends on the current population (slower at higher levels) but mainly on the health index.

Try health index of 140.
Population will keep growing even at 250M.

we see this all the time.

There was a high limit of 300M and some bumped into it.
we have increased to 400M for now.

Andy

Wow, natural population growth, even at 250M people?

I've yet to come across any nation that is achieving it, but I love the possibility. I can't wait to see it happen. I'd love to watch my population grow over time, to levels that high.

Out of curiosity, what ratio of Hospitals to "Number of Hospitals needed for good quality" is needed to produce a health index of 140? From looking at other players nations, I'm guessing it's approximately 1.5?

I have such countries that keep growing.
I have looked into other accounts recently to check the workings of recent updates and have seen population growth at 250M
