If automation is off, it should not occur.

we have discussed here one exception:

Education index under 70
and
no login for 3 weeks or longer.

In that case, all automation turns on.

Mrp,

Just to cover all possibilities. The game will change your educated priorities if, "education setup and development", or "health-care setup and development", or "economic support - easy mode", (not 100% sure about the last one) are enabled. If ANY of these are selected, then the system will change your education priorities.

I had the same thing happening to me, all automation was off. It eventually stopped but took weeks. I did turn on the auto ordering of products your country needs, don't know if that had anything to do with it. It shouldn't but like I said it stopped after that.

so probably the education index was <70.

otherwise there is no automation if turned off.
show me a case where this is not true and I will look into it.

The education setup automation will build schools and universities, and try to increase your education index.

There is also a function to increase employment and make sure you have the professionals you need.

This function will try to fix your education priorities to fit what you need and exchange workers for you, making sure there are no shortages.

This results in the corporations finding the workers they need.
Not all in a single game month but step by step making it possible for corporations to hire more people and increase employment.

if you turn automatic building of corporations on, you will get that too but only if existing corporations are at 100% employment level.

These functions, together, although looked down upon by some, constitute a good "easy mode" for those who do know know (yet) how to optimize and for those who do not want to do it.

Unfortunately, many new players were advised not to use these functions and missed the help they could use.

The Republic of Victoria 1
Your education system is not training the professionals your industry needs. Some workers have been assigned a different profession. Please check the priorities in your education system. You may need to build more Schools and Universities.

So, why would corps automatically build if I have the function off?

New Corporations can be started automatically if the any of the following conditions are met.

1). "Automatic building of new corporations." Is ticked, check automation settings to make sure this option hasn't been ticked by mistake.

2). "Increase Employment and move Workers to other Professions." Is ticked in automation settings. Quoting the tooltip, "... Workers will moved to other professions to increase hiring. New corporations will be started."

3). The Education Index is below 70 and/or the Player is inactive.

4). There used to be a feature that caused Corporations to be built automatically, if the Employment Index fell below 80%, even if the automation settings were off. This feature was removed recently. If the Corps were built before the feature was removed, this could be the cause. However if it's still happening, then this shouldn't be the cause.

4.1). If your Employment index is below 80%, and Corps are still building automatically, and none of the other conditions stated above are met. Then the feature removal may have a bug. If that is the case, please report it to the GMs so they can fix it.

I looked into Victoria 1.

It is not happening there right now.
I can find out what exactly happened in the past game months but it seems like the function was turned off.

I am waiting to see one where the function is turned off and corporations are added now.

There is no automatic building if this function is turned off except for, as I said before:

you do not login for 3 weeks.
or
the education index is under 70.

Nothing else.

When turned on:
corporations will be built if there are people to work in these new corporations and other existing corporations have all the people they need.

if so, a new corporation will be built, producing a product which is in a very severe shortage on the market.

I have six three on FB and and three on LU. Weiser 1 on LU is really the only one I have a problem with. When I checked today, it was changed noticed it Feb. 4051. I changed it back to how I wanted it and as of Mar. 4051 it is still how I left it. Thanks

Bucky, anyone who is having trouble with their Education Priority settings changing on their own,

Any of the Following conditions can cause your Education Priority settings to be changed automatically.

1) Under the Automation tab, ANY of the following are ticked
1.1) Economic Support - Easy Mode
1.2) Education setup and development.
1.3) Move Workers to other Professions. (not 100% sure about this one)
1.4) Increase Employment and move Workers to other Professions.
1.5) Health-care sector setup.

2) Your Education Index is below 70

3) You haven't logged into Simcountry recently

4) An emergency situation triggers automation to save your country from collapse, such as...
4.1) Extreme Debt Levels
4.2) Negative cash levels
4.3) Very Low Finance Index, caused by making large monthly losses
4.4) Extreme levels of unemployment
4.5) Deep shortages of Goods necessary for your population's survival

If any of these conditions are met in your country, they are likely the cause of the change in education priorities. Correcting the underling condition should solve the problem, and stop the intervention.

If none of these conditions are present, and haven't been for some time. And the changes persist. You may have encountered a bug. In that case, inform the GMs, so they can fix the issue.

Bucky,

I looked into the country and I do not see any automation.
the edu priorities are not the typical automated ones.

I also do not see any reason for any intervention.
