great so I just learn from another thread that the new pop cap for free players is 20M...

well nice job driving the free players away. I payed with my old account a few months ago and what someone also didn't tell me is that once you start paying, you can't see your country when your payment period expires until of course, you pay up again! great strategy Andy, I worked hard for that country on a free account then payed up for ONE MONTH and suddenly Im forced to keep playing if I wanna use my account. There is no option to go back to being a free player again. real sly Andy. so now after playing since 2010 I find that the pop cap is 20M and I think I'm definitely gone from this site for good.

Don Corleone,

Yes. Once you go premium, you can't downgrade back to being a free member. The only way for a Premium Member to go back to being a free member, would be to close there account and start a new one.

Personally, this is one of the things that originally delayed me from going Premium. I find people are more likely to sign up for something, if they know they can go back if they don't like it. However ultimately, it's upto the GM's to chose how they wish to structure their business model.

As for the 20 million population cap for free members.
Simcountry has a very generous free to play model. Allowing free players to access nearly all features in the game. The population cap is one of the few restrictions left, that makes going premium enticing for a lot of people.

there was NEVER any sort of pop cap up until a few months ago I assume. But I disagree with you saying that the game masters are giving free players "Generous" access to "most" features of the game. I call BS. its been shrinking more and more and this is finally the last ill take unfortunately. you cannot do much with a 20M pop country. like I said I've been playing since 2010 and I'm sad to say this is it for me. the GM pushed too much to get his cash and people will realize soon enough it will drive away more people than attract them.

The GM has offered in my opinion a VERY large range of free play abilities to players. You can have 3 countries up to 20M each, You can reach up to game level 3 which offer very profitable corps, and even engage in the PvP game if you so choose.
All of that for free, which is much more then you could get in other games.

Having a full membership is also very cheap. It costs you what $50 a year? That's the same cost as buying a $4 coffee each month.

Remember this is a business and free players don't exactly play the bills.

I was actually just looking into going Premium. After reading this and now knowing that I won't be able to go back to a free membership, I think I will probably just stay as a free member...

Hey you can pay a small monthly fee of 6 dollars to play the premium game. If I remember correctly.

If you stop paying the fee, will you revert back to level 3, or will your account close?

if you decide to stop paying, you cannot access your account. so once you start, you can't stop
