I think there is a flaw in the way the game chooses to build corps. The numbers are approximate, but you'll get the idea.

On WG there is a huge shortage of Oil. In the last 6 game months, per month production increased by 20M with an average demand of 20B.
At the same time production of Anti-Tank Missile Batteries increased by 1,200 with a demand of 4,000.

I looked at the graphs of other Off weapons and Electricity and Construction. They show the same trend.

To me it looks like a 300% difference in favor of weapons.

Does anyone have any thoughts or better data?

Perhaps they are trying to make weps cheaper? Ammo cheaper? Essentially try to keep certain markets in surplus to suppress prices?

I have heard the GM mention reducing the cost of weps/ammo

I would agree with that. Whenever my employed population goes below the 80% threshold I think it is -the game automatically starts building corps. But what does it build -defensive and offensive weapons corps -and these are not the most profitable. I eventually shut them down and build my own corps like oil or something else in huge demand. Not sure why the game selects these (military) type of corps. I have also noticed when taking over a C3 country there has just recently been a lot of military corps built in that country. Guess it is a game design.

You can turn off the automatic building in your settings.

Most countries are C3 so only the game mechanics chooses what to build. Products with a large monthly deficit should have a larger percentage of new builds. The game appears to favor the building of weapons corps.

This does keep arms plentiful and cheap but the corps are losers.

On WG Fighter Planes just went red, there are 40 new corps making them.
Medical Equipment with a 3T deficit had 6 new corps during the same time.

The World Market could be more balanced. Corps should be able to make a profit most of the time.

yeah, i would agree here to an extent of noting, some corperations at times get a little out of hand with their surpluses, and its to the point where sometimes a very too many happen at one time. I do believe this should be fixed as it is really annoying to have to close corperations due to losses just to re open them when the situation is better.

Kind of a pain really. Im trying to play a game, not stress over something. I get there should be some value to supply and demand; but the same old generic up and down log is not exactly making me build corporations.
