Birth and Death rates

Yet another update to accommodate countries with larger population. Population growth partially depends on the size of the populations. In the past, when the population increased above 60 or 70 million, growth declined and the population became stable. At higher levels, the age distribution changed gradually and the average age of the population increased.

In the past months, we have made several small but incremental changed that in time repaired the population model but at the same time increased the growth potential and population keeps growing at much higher levels.

The game update today will increase the birth rates some more and increase the potential of countries To achieve even higher population numbers.

The death rates have been reduced several times in the past months reducing the percentage of the older population and making countries more profitable in the process.

This update adds a little more to that trend. All changes are quite small.

Corporations

Small scale tuning of corporations, slightly increasing the size of some corporations and reducing the use of high level workers to cut long time shortages. Also this was done already recently.

You may see some more low level workers being employed and some decrease in the numbers of employed high level workers. Hopefully, the need to convert workers to balance the work force will be reduced. We do not want to make large changes and after evaluating the results, we may need to repeat this.

Jonni,

I beg you to please check the update because something is very wrong. I posted this as a problem in the problems thread days ago and got nothing.
All my worker numbers are decreasing, I have over a 250 educational index, and I have over 16 million unemployed Low level workers, but no mid or high level workers. Something is very wrong, Please check Melichor on LU for more info. This issue can also be seen thought my LU empire.

No matter what I've attempted to do the LLW are still growing at a rapid rate of 1M per game year and its creating a highly unstable workforce so much that its causing me to have millions of open job positions causing severe economic hardship. I cannot close operations or change the professions of workers fast enough to compensate. I really don't know what to do and I could really use some GM guidance on this issue.

I checked.
In the last 3 game years, the number of LLWs went up from 16.2 to 16.4 millions.

The real problem is the shortage of HLWs.
Also MLWs are low.
You need to convert many professionals into HLWs and hiring will increase rapidly. Many conversions needed to balance the work force.

also, your education priorities should be shifted a bit to the groups where the numbers needed are larger than the numbers you have.

this is checked when hiring is done each month.

Although numbers are large, they are very small compared to the total of 278M in the country.

We have written here about the shortage of HLWs in many countries and we have made some changes to reduce it.

Obviously we need some more but the problem is already reduced and most countries do not have shortages.

Thanks for the update.

About converting workers. Could you increase the number per month that you're allowed to convert?

You are right.
Shortages of HLWs remain a problem.

Rather than increasing the numbers converted, we will introduce another update that will reduce the number of HLWs needed and free up some to reduce shortages.

We do not think that these conversions should be needed a lot.
these conversions are intended in sporadic cases.
The shortages we have should disappear.

we have already improved the situation and will make more such updates until the shortages are diminished.

Andy,

Okay I will continue to make changes necessary and I will report back so the GM has some input. However I would politely request the GM truly consider the suggestion above and allow us to change the professional numbers from 100000 per month to possibly 200. Because of the changes you made the population and the massive growth that we've been saying I don't believe that a hundred thousand is truly viable anymore. Once you hit a hundred million population or even around 80 million the hundred thousand mark it does not have any effect on the country and it makes it very difficult to balance the employment numbers. If I may be so bold to suggest the gym again increase the rate to 200,000 in order to keep on par with the recent changes or even offer a booster which allows us to change like 500,000 people per game month for one month for like five gold coins

Andy, Jonni, SuperSoldierRCP,

I think Super has a very important point. Telling him to demote professionals, when he is hard capped to 100,000 per game month, isn't really a reasonable fix.

Given he needs an additional 3.8 Million High level workers. It would take nearly a week to demote that many, even if he logged in every 4 hours, (in which case, when would he sleep?). Including the Medium level workers it would take roughly 2 weeks.

The real problem here isn't that SuperSoldierRCP isn't demoting workers. It is that despite having 16 million unemployed Low Level Workers, the automatic promotion system isn't promoting enough to prevent shortages. Which is something the player has no control over.

With 16 million unemployed Low Level Workers, and at most 13 million unskilled worker jobs unfilled across LLW/MLW/HLW. Melichor has more than enough workers, the system is simply failing to promote them fast enough.

Simply increase the rate at which the game can promote workers, when there are high numbers of unfilled Medium, and High Level Worker Jobs.

Andy,

I agree and thank Dan for his insight. I have been demoting and exchanging workers monthly. However, the LLW numbers either grow or flat line compared to the still decreasing various other worker numbers. I would be so bold to ask maybe is it because of my population size that is causing an issue?

I have a country with about 220M
After last update, the number of HLWs jumped by 800.000

in your country is was 200.000 or 300.000
the number of LLWs was reduced by 500.000

It depends on the type of corporations you have.
the reduction is in some corporations but it will end up with reductions everywhere.

next update next week.

We should have a reasonably balanced situation.

you cannot balance long term by manual conversions. it needs to be balanced at the base and then corrections will be smaller and further apart.

SuperSoilderRCP, Andy,

Looking at the figures, the last update did improve the situation. However, promotions are still lagging behind the amount a country with a large population is going to need long term.

Once the population gets into the mid to high 200M-300M range, there is a serious risk of promotions failing to keep up with worker requirements.

Another update, to reduce the requirement for High level workers, is probably necessary to resolve the issue for large population countries.

We will probably need several more small updates if we want to reduce the need for many manual conversions.
