Simcountry Pages

We are updating some pages in Simcountry. The aim is to streamline some long ones. Make them easier to use and look nicer.

Some functions are spread of too many pages and can be improved. This process will continue for a long time and gradually transform the user interface.

Population

Population remains an issue but largely resolved.

Countries without a president have a population of between 13 and 15 millions. Countries belonging to free accounts will see their population grow to around 20 Millions.

Population growth in these countries is slow and it stops when the population reaches the maximum levels.

Full member countries have a much higher population growth rates. These rates depend on the size of the population. They are very high at the level of 20 to 40 millions. The growth is gradually reduced with the growth of the population. Full member countries can reach a population level of 100 to 150 millions, depending on the health care system in the country and its welfare.

Countries with more than 100 millions can also see population declines. These depend on the health care system, the welfare level and on the age distribution in the country.

Migration is also increasing in numbers. The welfare levels in countries will cause larger fluctuations in the migration numbers.

Corporations

Small scale tuning is aimed at widening the use of some materials that are used in a very small number of other industries. Some other small changes are aimed at increasing the use of some materials that are hardly used at all. If the number of corporations producing a product declines under 15, the market can become dependent on A diminishing product and increasing production when needed, can take a long time.

We have looked into such products and tuned their usage up a bit to prevent instability.

Some corporations are becoming a bit larger. The aim here is to reduce the world wide number of corporations which went out of control recently and became a problem in the processing of large numbers of corporations and their transactions.

In general, the number of corporations in each world is declining a bit or remaining stable.

We will continue a gradual increase in sizes which also makes it easier to manage countries and enterprises with a very large number of population and corporations.

Hi Jonni,

Are you also looking into adjusting corporation according to their levels, making them more proffitable at higher levels?

Jonni,

I would like to make a suggestion if I may regarding the changes. A lot of other games do this and I feel this is becoming more necessary in sim county. Tons of other games already host Player moderators. I would greatly suggest that Sim country follow suit. I play another game called Urbandead, its a zombie game. The forums elect their own moderators in 6 month intervals and those elected even offer suggestions on balance changes once in awhile.

I think Sim country should follow suit. Every 6 months the GM should host elections to pick 1-4 players(depending on the size of assistance needed) to become forum moderators and to assist you in editing of documentation. We can say for example that that to qualify the player must have:
-Must play both game entities (CEO/Empire)
-Must be at least war level 3
-Must have at least gained Game level 6
-Account must have been active for at least 1 year

This would allow many people to qualify, but would make sure that those wanting to help have some experience and time within the game. Allowing the players to choose moderators and knowledgeable players to assist the GM in editing or revising documentation would allow those players not only the change to contribute greatly, but would also give you as the GM an ability to learn about issues you might not be aware of.

You could state that moderators are responsible for general forum support and documentation editing. They would patrol the beginners/problems threads helping those in need(and in extreme cases messaging the GM to provide assistance).

Just something to think about

I think this is great idea as sc documentation is massive and cumbersome to update. It could be much better if community could create it like wikipedia.

SuperSoilderRCP,

War level 3 and Game level 6. You are the only player on LU that meets that standard. There is only one other player game level 6 and above, and he's only war level 2.

The Game Levels are already grossly outdated, the last thing we need is lock even more features behind them. If anything, they need a complete redo, to match modern index values and play styles.

I like the sentiment behind the idea. However, when it comes to the documentation, even experienced players often aren't 100% sure how things work, with many features changed without the GM telling us, there would be no way to know that the edits being made were accurate, if the GM didn't approve every single one personally.

On the forums, is it really necessary? There are several players that already look at the forum and answer people's questions, people don't need to be a moderator to fill that role.

Dear Daniel,

I think Super's idea is superb! This would give my precious Andrew added time with other facets of his job and TIME TO RESPOND TO HIS MOTHER, and it promotes player involvement and more game interaction. Having said this, I think it is still important that the GMs interact with the players as well. :-D

I am a very big advocate of in-game communications - both CHAT and FORUM. I think moderators are good, because of what I have seen in the last two weeks, there isn't enough talk!

Talk it up, Sim peeps!
