I am dedicating this post to all the shoe lovers in the world! Moi included.

Did you know that six-inch-high heels were worn by the upper classes in 17th century Europe? BUT...to achieve this look, two servants, one on either side, were needed to hold up the person wearing the high heels.

It appears that this same assistance is needed by me to this VERY day! ha ha ha ha

Now, what tidbit can you contribute to Did You Know...?

Quite interesting.
Did you know that dogs use their noses like we use our eyes. That is why dogs are always sniffing everything as they get their sensory information from smell.
Also Did you Know that cats are quite intelligent and even know and recognize their own names (but cats being cats I would say they are selective in their hearing) -lol. That old saying dogs have masters but cats have us as slaves.

I didn't know about those 17th century monstruos shoes, nor about the senses of dogs and cats. Interesting post!

Did you know that earth loves forensics?

Humans aren’t the only ones to benefit from forensic science. Numerous eco-crimes have been resolved, thanks to the endeavors of forensic scientists. Mismanagement of hazardous waste, large-scale industrial pollution, and other serious eco-crimes can now be solved through the efforts of forensic scientists. By tracing the chemical signatures of the contaminants found in the areas of incident, the individuals responsible for many ecological wrongdoings have been caught by the authorities. The mercury poisoning in the true-to-life film “Erin Brockovich” was eventually traced to its source through a combination of investigative know-how and perseverance.

Both are great and interesting posts!

@ Michael - I have a cat named Baxter. He is a black and white tuxedo cat. My cat is totally in control of my home. He even opens the refrigerator door in the kitchen to help himself to chicken, if left over from dinner! Also, he is the first cat that I have EVER known to not like Tuna Fish! I opened a can of it to treat him...he actually turned his nose up at it and went along his way!

@Horatio - Very interesting! I am amazed at forensic science. I think if I had my career path to do all over again, that would have been the most interesting field of study! I know from watching the show, Forensic Files, you can almost never get away with murder! lol I don't even know why people even try! ha ha ha ha They have resolved many cases by some of the most fascinating means! A show I watched the other day, they were able to solve a case by the chemical make-up of wood used at a campfire gathering of friends to wood used to set a fire to burn a body. They were then able to link a culprit to the crime!

And more on my favorite topic...

Did you know that placing shoes caddywampus in your doorway is a good way to outsmart devils from entering your door? If you place one shoe with toes facing out the door and the other shoe with toes facing in, this will confuse demons and keep your home safe and evil-free. Good thing I possess MANY shoes!!

Which brings me to this. Did you know that according to Glamour Magazine, the average woman will buy 469 pairs of shoes in her lifetime? All in all, she will end up spending $25,000 on shoes. Husbands, BEWARE! lol

Compliments of Google. :-D

Hello Wicked Lady: in the show you saw I think they used Forensic Chemistry, besides other Forensic Sciences.

Interesting fact about shoe to confuse evil entities. But I use a infallible method to confuse persons with evil intentions: I ask a loan to that person...and believe me,
it works! LOL

Imelda Marcos used to have thousands of pairs of shoes, and I try to guess how many feet she had. Regards!

Ha ha ha, Detective Horatio! Indeed, I will ponder that question myself!!! Let me know what you discover on how many feet she has!!!

I think I will use your tactic on how to ward off evil people. ha ha ha ha ha ha

As to forensics, it is so interesting. I love the crime/murder shows. I think it is from when I used to report the news and had to cover such interesting cases. I remember one such case of three guys who murdered an elderly couple at a remote camp site. If it had not been for a single thumbprint on a beer can lodged under the seat of the dead couple's car, the three men charged with the murders never would have bene placed at the scene of the crime. You see the three guys stole the couple's car to later abandon it. All three received the death penalty.

Did you know....

There is an actual shoe museum in North America. It is called the Bata Shoe Museum and is located in Toronto, Canada. They have on display shoes which span from today to all the way back to 2500 BC.

You see how important shoes are!!!!

It is the devil wears prada.

Did you know that you are more likely to die from falling then from getting killed by a gun (even in America)

On that same note:

Did you know you are more likely to die from: Electrocution, Radiation, Extreme Temperatures and Pressure combined then from a dog attack?

Letsie, excellent guess, but not the answer. :-D I did rather like that movie and have watched it several times. lol Very clever indeed you are!

Also interesting facts! You know, I think for me the worst way to die would be to be eaten by a shark. Although, somewhat related, I think drowning in a car that goes off a bridge down in deep dark waters would be horrible. A reoccurring dream I used to have would be to be driving and right before hitting water, I would wake up.

Hmmmm wonders what that means?

Oh for those who might be interested...…. My favorite movie was Wizard of Oz, because of my love for the Wicked Witch of the West....thus why I have dressed as a witch every Halloween since a small child.

It was pointed out to me in days of Simcountry past by Crafty Cockney, a veteran player, that my movie and favorite character choice, should be obvious, as the witch in the movie was after the ruby red slippers! And you know my passion for shoes!!! ha ha ha ha

Totally un-shoe related...

Did you know there are more lifeforms living on your skin than there are people on the planet? Creepy, huh? I guess no one is ever truly alone. :S

Well, I guess I murdered a few of those lifeforms, when I took my shower this morning!!! lol

Did you know...

There are actual laws about shoes????!!!

It is illegal to walk down a street in Maine with your shoelaces untied, in Ohio, women are prohibited from wearing patent leather shoes in public, and in North Dakota, it is illegal to lie down and fall asleep with your shoes on.

Interesting, huh?

Very interesting! I didn't know those laws. In the case of Maine, that law is in order to prevent accidents, I guess.

I found that in almost the 194 countries in the world, its illegal to wear shoes without previous payment, both for men and women. :P ;)

Very very interesting, Detective Caine!

You know how some people will pay a lot of money to have a pair of shoes that they want?

Well, did you know that the most expensive pair sold for $660,000 US Dollars. They were the Ruby Slippers, worn by Judy Garland in yes, my favorite movie, The Wizard of Ox. These shoes were sold at auction at this price on June 2, 2000.

Hmmmm me thinks I need to use my wicked spells to find the red ruby slippers! *cackles evilly

Hi Michael,

If you think about it, God has already given us His power, the power of the Holy Spirit. If you have the faith of even a tiny mustard seed, you have the power to move a mountain! Through God's Holy Spirit, we are given the power to expel demons, heal, everything. With that comes great responsibility, because according to the Bible, we are not just to have faith or believe. (Even Satan believes!) We are to be doers for God. We are his disciples on earth today, each with a specific gift/s from on High for God's purpose. I think my gift is "gab" or communications. What do you think? lol

Interesting dream, my angel. Just never state that you are more powerful than God, Himself. That is what Lucifer thought, and you see where that got him! No matter what.....good always triumphs over evil - even in the movies and in Simcountry! :-D
