HT services are now practically free on kb, dropping for weeks. Going beyond normal. Now services are surging. This will ruin more economies. I am still repairing what's left of my empire after the population explosions disasters . I need a break.

This is not a problem, you just need to diversify your production. Close hts and build other companies, there are no rules saying that market should always be red.

Khome, Letsie, Lord Mndz,

I think Khome was saying that market manipulation, rather than overproduction, was to blame for the current surplus.

However, Lord Mndz is right, in terms of the solution. Product diversification is incredibly important. It lets you deal with market manipulation, shortages, surpluses, and GM changes, without having to worry to much.

Personally, my country has a bit over 300 Corporations. But I don't let myself build more than 4 Corps maximum, of a single product, (except Air Transport, for the extra Airports), so that I am not exposed to a product dump, or other market issues. Most products I have only 1-3 Corps. This makes the country's economy very resilient.

I barely diversify my production. I just have such massive surpluses of cash that I can counter any market manipulation in my primary markets. It ends up costing the manipulator more because I buy the entire product dump back at a lower price and then just ship it off world and sell it for peak price. I love when people mess with the markets I am in. You should be thanking them for the free money not complaining about it on the forums.

First off, I'll point out an issue as I see it. So please don't tell me what I should or shouldn't say.
For whatever reason, we now have this snappy attitude in the forum where we all feel the urge to "shut down" others, rather than discuss. If you don't care to do that, then just don't. Letsie, you also didn't know the whole story or occurrences that had happened a few months ago regarding flooding. Dan just made reference to that.
And I'm not talking about just the occasional spikes or drops that I'm very well aware of and used to, I'm talking about the outrageous amounts dumped on more than one planet. Example; HT Services has still not recovered for over 3 weeks. It's practically free.

Yes John, I'm buying it up and saving it for when the price increases, and I'm not going to carelessly dump it and crash the price again.

OF course diversification is the best way to go, I have plenty of corps of all types, but it can still offer problems. It takes time to develop corps; upgrading, IPOs, etc. Closing and opening corps on a rotating basis is not a good strategy.

Sheesh...

Khome if you have a ceo on FB ship it all there and sell. That world has so much shortages you can make a killing. That is what I do when oil surplus spikes on LU.
