Offensive versus Offensive Weapons

I have noticed that offensive weapons do not fire back against other offensive weapons when attacked. I have tested a few situations and all are displaying this bug. Offensive AA versus precision bomber results in no offensive AA casualties, only bombers. Also mid range missiles firing ineffectively at a bomber group takes no casualties in return. All this despite the fact that the documentation states that bombers should do damage to Offensive AA and mid range missile batteries.

I will be testing fighter plane wing versus another fighter plane wing very shortly. My suspicion is that only the defending fighter wing will take damage. I will post results when I have them.

Tested fighter plane wing versus fighter plane wing. Again damage is one sided. Only the defending unit takes damage and it does not return fire.

I think it has always been this way

I honestly cannot recall myself. It could be a bug from the old war engine because in the past there were never situations where offensive weapons fought each other, except maybe with navies.

It always worked in this way, this is why you needed defensive weapons.

If we "fix" this, we could go as far as making defensive weapons obsolete.

The idea was that defensive weapons will come at a lower cost and allow you to build a good defense at a much lower cost than needed for someone to break your defenses.

Haha well you know how I feel about defensive weapons being made obsolete . I'm all for merging the weapons but I leave the game's vision to you guys.
