I've been playing this game for 2 weeks and am now the #1 ranked free player in my world. When I first started playing, I thought this game had everything I was looking for. However I quickly found out that there is a huge disparity between what you can do as a free player vs what you can do as a premium member.

I have a background playing war games and grand strategy games, so I was very disappointed to find out that I can't even attack another country after I conquered my first one. This makes the military utterly useless in this game.
Premium members get huge advantages in every aspect of this game. I've found that games that have a huge disparity between free to play and premium and one with such a small following in the first place usually don't last very long. I've found that there might be 30 -50 premium members at most in each game world, some of which might be inactive. I'm not going to buy a premium membership in a game where I'm only competing against 30 players.

The only way to grow in a reasonable amount of time in this game as a free player is through the stock market. Even then, it's very tedious and there's nothing to do besides watch the assets grow and no hope of actually controlling the corporations. If I wanted to play a stock market game, I'd play a real stock market game. Everything else in the game as a free player is just a waiting game with no chance of ever catching the premium players. I have no interest in playing that type of game.

This game had a lot of potential to be great, but with the issues I mentioned I am very disappointed with this game. Even though I've worked my way up to the first ranked free player position in my world, I have no interest in continuing further with this game. I hope the developers look into these and other issues and make changes to bring some life into this game. This game really has a great concept and I want to see it live up to its potential.

Dear mcwjar,

Thank you for your post. Simcountry has been around for a long time and has been successful throughout the years. As with any game, there are changes and ebb and flow. I have been an off-again/on-again player for a little more than 10 years. Some players in the game today have been here even longer. So there must be something intriguing and challenging within the game. :-D We ALWAYS keep coming back!

The free-game I see as a means for a player to become engaged, navigate and explore the game. Of course, there will be more advantage to being a premium member, that only makes sense. If you enjoy the game and truly want to become a game great, I encourage you to join as a premium. Join for three months and enjoy the possibilities! The expense to play is not that great, cheaper than going to a movie and buying refreshments! :-D

Come talk to us sometime in chat, and we will tell you stories about this game, the community, the challenge, the EVERYTHING! :-D

I look forward to meeting you! I hope you give us a chance!

All my best,
The Wicked Lady
