No rewards I believe until you hit war level 3 or 4. They scale up pretty fast.

The first rewards for war start at lvl 3. John is right about the scaling They scale up really fast.

We will reduce the difficulty level for war levels 4 to 8.
may be also higher later.

This will make it easier to build an empire and keep you from a huge war against a very strong C3 country.

it will escalate of course but slower.

I have given up on war level 21 Andy. I looked at the number of helicopters and stealth bomber wings and decided it's not worth it haha. You win!

As long as we get WL3 declarations in the future I don't think I will push it any higher.

I would like to ask you not to make it any easier. I am not a good war player but even I had no problem clearing it up to war lvl 7.

What might be a good idea is to add a little extra pop up for the higher war lvls to help newer players. One just like you get when you fight your first war. (and lets be honest it would be easier to program a little pop up then changing all those war lvls)

At lvl 4 and 7 the difficulty makes this little jump upwards and I think it would be better to explain to people why it became harder all of a sudden. It is the unknown things that hurt people the most.

When I first encountered stealth bombers I suffered WAAY more loses than before and I had no idea what I was doing wrong. I won the war because I noticed the 'new' units called stealth bombers and figured out that they were inflicting those loses. I am used to the simcountry engine and play style. But somebody who is less experienced might have missed those units and suffer grievous losses and even lose.
A simple message in the lines of: From here out wars get a lot more difficult because of new types of units would have helped me a lot more then fewer units.

The same with war lvl 8. The scaling from 6 to 7 is a lot easier then from 7 to 8. There is nothing wrong with that but when you are not expecting it to increase by that much in 1 war lvl it hurts. A message saying that from war lvl 8 and up things will start increasing even more would have been priceless for me.

We are adding some war levels between 3 and 7.
The shift will add war levels, up to 24 and later up to 30.

It will make the difference between war levels a little smaller.

The only thing it does, is offering players the opportunity to earn more gold coins as awards for moving up the war levels and makes it easier to build a small empire.

We are trying to make the difficulty level to grow more gradually with no huge increases.

How will those new levels impact players that are already high up in war level?

It is in fact good for them.
the level difficulty is shifting instead of just increasing when adding new levels that are beyond the complexity of existing ones.

so WL 20 can now be compares to the previous WL 18.

There is however a difference.

counter attacks are less predictable and they will spread across many assets. They will destroy cities, bases etc.
