as natural resource shortages are now a part of the game, it may be time to take another look at the idea of alternative corps that produce the same type of resource, but consume different supplies to produce it.
For example
An electric power corp consumes oil to produce Electric Power
We could though have other types,
such as a Solar Power corp that consumes Minerals (Silicon) to produce Electric Power
Wind power corps that consume steel
Natural Gas corps that consumes Gas
Coal fire power corps that consume coal
-------------------------------------------------------
Eventually though their may be natural resource shortages across the board and nations and ceo's may invest in less cost effective means in order to meet the needs of their people and corps.
such as an Ethanol Corp
current gasoline corps consume oil
but an ethanol corp would cons

This is an interesting idea that would be a bit more realistic.
Kind of like the nuclear power corps today, once a country buys the power from them its just regular electricity. Making multiple types of electric power corps using different energy sources and buying them based on price would be interesting.

My empire is looking to buy clean energy and may have some nice increase in public health situation and welfare.

I like the addition of pollution as I feel Lord Mndz is hinting at.

what I put above are not the only things that could have alternative methods of production
there are of course Bioplastics
plastic in SC is made from oil
where as Bioplastics can be made from food waste and sawdust thus providing a boost to the demand of agriculture crops and wood corps.

I like the idea of different ways of producing the same product.
Simcountry currently lacks substitution for input materials, that makes it's economy far less adaptive than real life economies.
Although I think it would be vital that the outputs are all sold as the same product on the market.
The current system, where Nuclear power is sold separately, from oil power, doesn't work. Every buy order has to be placed manually, so there is never stable demand, and the market for it doesn't function.
Personally I'd focus on Electricity as the first product, with options being... Oil, Gas, Coal, Uranium, or Wood. Those are the main materials that are used to produce Electricity in real life, that are also present in the game.

I agree that it should be put in one piece at a time to allow the markets to adjust and fix any problems.
