Security Council Votes should be public

I would like to propose that security council votes not be secret. We should be able to see who votes yes and who voted no. When the UN Security Council votes, it is not a secret ballot. I can't think of any reason the ballot should be secret. When the full community goes to vote, that should also be public. By making the votes public, it could increase communication on the forums or discord because people will have to talk about how they voted and why.

I agree with this. A little annoying not being able to properly identify what went wrong, or worry about people lying to you about said vote.

Being new to the game, and becoming a member of this council is a great honor. I tend to agree with Zentrino and Matthew. I would like to see vigorous debate were ideas and view points can be addressed openly without fear of retribution. There lies the problem. With an open vote how can we guarantee each council members or presidents safty while voicing his or hers opinions? We can't, but that should not matter. In life we have to make hard decisions and live with those consequences. Simcountry gives each of us the opportunity to be leaders, to chart are own paths, to make hard choices. Being able to see the votes would add a nice twist to the game. My hope would be that people vote for what's best for them. Not (yes) just to get along.

I also agree and mainly because a lot of members on the security council dont vote ever and I think those members should be replaced by people who want the job and will take it seriously.

I'd like to see this. It wouldn't be a hard thing to implement either. Anything that creates a bit of interaction would only be good. Most people dont bother with the security council because it's powerless really. There's 0 benefit to being a member, that I can think of anyway.

Thanks for the input everyone. I agree that anything that adds interaction is good.

I agree as well. Shun those who vote no for security council aid! SHUN THE NON-BELIEVERS!

I've got a feeling E_O doesn't deal with non-believers very well

Hell no. I don't want the public to know how I vote. The big guys might use this information to.. persuade.. me to vote differently...
