The Defense of countries during War

We have made several changes to support the defense of countries in war.

The defense of a target during an attack, was until now supported by a garrison if available at the target, by a defensive air wing if available, and by up to two defense wings owned by federation members if these wings were available and within range.
A mobile defense unit, if within a range of 20 from the attacked target, also participated in the defense.
We have now increased the number of mobile units that can participate in the defense to two units and the range of such mobile units is increased to 40.

Mobile units that are located in various positions in the country now probably cover multiple targets and their chance of participating is larger than before.

The change is not very significant but can help the defense.

Our intention is to add one non mobile unit to the defense of a target if the range is less than 20.
This change will be made within several weeks.

Military Units

Some military units have been tuned down a bit (major navy carrier group), and some defense units are slightly larger.
When setting up military units, you can change the default weapons numbers in the units but none of the weapons can consist of more than 80% of the total number of weapons in the unit.

We intend to continue with small changes to create a more balanced distribution of military power between types of units.

Population

Population growth in C3 countries and countries owned by free players is slightly increased.
The change is made to improve the distribution of people between age groups.

Changes will be slow to show up as population changes with time, birth numbers and aging.

Corporations

Many types of corporations are becoming more profitable. We expect countries to become a bit more profitable, enterprises too.
Profitability will improve but market values could end up nearly unchanged and P/E ratio could decline a bit.

All these changes are not very large.
We think that the change will increase profitability.

Enterprise and the storage of weapons

Enterprises, by design, can store weapons at no cost. This makes enterprises not only a source of cash profits but they can also reduce the cost of maintaining an army.

Some enterprises push this advantage very far.
The low cost, combined with the possibility for instant transfer to countries to wage war, is a major danger for smaller players in war.

We are considering the introduction of some weapon and ammunition use while in storage at enterprises.
It is not part of this upgrade and may take some time to materialize in any real format in the game.

It is intended for large quantities of weapons and ammunition that are stored in enterprises.

The alternative for free storage is space stations.
The cost on space stations is the cost of docking stations that can be bought or rented.

we will publish details when we have them, ahead of any possible change.

This is a great update
And also i believe space shuttle capacity should be increased to like 1 million
Because it really takes a long long time to transfer weapons or ammunition to and from countries and enterprises because its current capacity is 100,000

My first point on this is. Since yous changed the rules on weapons leaving space stations and sending them inactive, storing them in a CEO and moving them in quickly doesn't work so well.

Free storage for weapons in CEO's has been a feature of the game since the beginning.

By free storage in space stations do you mean free storage and immediate activation of weapons when leaving space stations?

If your going to still send them inactive when leaving the space station, free storage on them will be less effective, I think. I'm less likely to fork out 200 GC if I still have to reactivate. And how much free storage will I get for 200 GC?

It's not really free storage if it's costing me 200GC to store it. GC's being the most valuable asset on the game. I'm not gonna waste them on storage alone. On the plus side it'll prob force players to use standing armies.

Two points I am taking from this:

1. We should look at the volume of shuttles. This is either their capacity or speed.
I will look into both.
2. The cost of storage at space stations, mainly for weapons and ammo.
I will look into this too.

I will do this quickly.

Cargo shuttles will move more quickly starting in about 30 minutes.
we will then check to see how the system copes.

The next upgrade in a week or so, will reduce the space products use on a cargo shuttle by 50% or more.
a cargo shuttle will be able to transport more products per flight.

This will apply to all weapons and ammunition but also for most other products.

The change will cut the cost of storage in space stations by 50%.

Its not really the speed of space shuttles that is the problem, its more the capacity. The number of clicks it takes to load, scheduled trip and unload the space shuttle add up to a lot of time and inconvenience. All ready if the enterprise is on the same world as the nation your transferring weapons to its almost instant movement, I used 5 space shuttles and they moved faster than I could load schedule and unload them.

In your case then, the doubling of load on each shuttle and much lower cost of storage will help.

I have seen cases where also the flight time was too long.
