Security Council Aide Across All Worlds

Dear Sim Community on All Worlds,

I am a very strong advocate in giving security council aid to presidents who qualify, who need a boost. I have written MANY times my views on this topic, but there is still much resistance in providing this form of aid.

Security Council Aid is not just for new players. Established players can also qualify for this aid. If someone needs help, I encourage we help them. 2T is not a lot to give, but can certainly help. The game graciously gives us the ability to do this for players. It is what it is there for.

It has just come to my attention that a responsible player I know on White Giant, with a struggling empire, has asked for aid, and the proposal was voted down. Shame on you who voted NO. If you cannot help players, then maybe we veteran players should not help YOU with game knowledge, etc. I'm just saying. We need to be more supportive of each other.

True God bless you! but I still think SC should have an option whereby presidents can send money or aid directly to other countries, even if it has to be limited to a certain amount each game year. This is also fine in real life... The option will be very nice tho with measures to curb cheating.. the game master should look into this.

Yes, David, we had the ability to do this before, but it was abused by some players and taken away. It would be nice if one could gift things to others, but not sure how it could be done where cheating couldn't ensue. We can hope, though!

yeah we hope.. maybe gifting should be limited to a particular country each game year and maybe have a fixed maximum amount! from one country to another on same world.. think this will make the economic aspect of the game more active for some countries.. just saying tho

People seem very stingy about 2T when hardly anyone asks for it AND White Giant is sitting on almost 500T of unused funds.

Maybe limit it to premium members or something? (I'm assuming the abuse came from people making alts and just funneling in outside cash)

Having 40 countries and paying trillions on government cost just for the sake of having 40 countries is not responsible

As a member of the KB Security Council, I have tried to send aid to countries hit by natural disasters, but this has been voted down.

We currently have 157.42T SC$ available.

Gifting could be allowed from on country to another on the disaster page, so money can only be sent to a country that has been hit by a disaster?

To stop people abusing the system by starting a country just to transfer the money out, make it a rule that you must be president for at least 100 days before you can send money. But to help new players you can receive money from the start.

You can send disaster relief to any country you like, just not in the form of cash.

I agree with you Lewis.. gifting cash maybe allowed for old premium members I think which can be sent to all players in same world and not on different worlds.. in real life countries can send money to other country.. maybe this gifting may require approval by the world's SC or GM to control cheating.. anyway there must be a way..

"Responsible"? So, exactly what are the qualifications for "responsible" financial aid? As long as you have less than 2T in net cash you qualify. Beijing did.

I struggle in vein to see the downside, again, 2T is chump change and not going forward with it is just petty. If an individual is in debt that cannot be reversed, 2T isn't going to help.

Glad it passed regardless, but members on the planet are far too stingy with little reasoning behind it. 2T there is for financial aid. Not giving it to a country in need is simply against the entire reasoning of it existing.

@Matthew I i think I understand where Valid is coming from.. what beijing needs now is to cut spending and build economy.. the 2T Aid is going to Solve nothing at all for beijing.. with over 713,000 Army!!! 7.32T worth of weapons for Leader Country.. he seriously needs to cut Spending..Giving Aid is good but learning to build a power stronger Economy is more better..

So somebody who manages 38! countries badly gets lots of aid from the security council?

Like I said, steps are being taken place. Not every province needs aid and not every province requested aid. I do not see where he is coming from since Beijing is taking active steps to get rid of said deficit. It is very very frustrating to see people ask for help and have it shot down for arbitrary reasons. It's TWO TRILLION we're dealing with and it's literally there to help other countries.

@Dabumb ANYONE that has less than 2T in assets can ask and we will vote for it as long as they qualify.

People are more upset at this than I thought and I can't really imagine why.

Not really Matthew No one is upset... just that beijing recieved 6T Said under 2 game months in 3 of his provinces... how many province are queuing up for more Aid? Am a sole ADVOCATE of philanthropy but we still need to apply precaution.. This said empire has weapons he can sell off and settle his debt in his numerous countries... hope you understand where am coming from Matthew

I understand the concerns and I don’t mean to come off so aggressive.

Its just with the state of the population, and the lack of a downside for both members and people on the planet at large, I feel like we can afford to give aid to countries that qualify.

I agree that the Security Council has to be responsible in who it gives money to However, you people who refuse time and time again are ridiculous. I mean if that is the way you want to be, then we might as well not even have a security council. Even your most responsible players need help from time to time, even those with larger empires. Get a grip, people!

Just wanted to say, i saw the new UN vote for giving development aid to my leader country, thank you so much! I really appreciate this and promise to put the cash to good use!

I vote yes on every SC resolution for aid. 2T for a country is like giving a couple of bucks to the guy outside the gas station. You can maybe do one thing with it but whatever it is, it won't hurt anyone and probably does little to fix the problem.

The weapons in my empire has nothing to do with the debt, my weapons and ammo are all equally distributed in my states for defensive and offensive purposes and hardly impact my military cost
As Gamemaster informed me that my empire government cost is so high that it is surpassing my monthly profit which is 30-50B a month
And I should focus on getting my empire profitability even higher than it is
Which i have been doing and it is working and the cost is slowly decreasing
The security council granted me those funds because, if you do not know, you cannot build any corps if your state is in debt
The funds are there to help any empire or single state why have it sitting there for all these years and not make use of it
