Contracting is broken

I'm sure this is a well known issue already, but contracting is broken, the system won't allow you to sell fractions (that is less than 1) of a product between corps. This also particularly affects some of the corps with the most supply issues e.g. def weapons maintenance.

This presents a number of problems, if you do try to be self sufficient and use the contracting system, you will automatically create a contract that sells e.g. 1 airplane to your assets maintenance corporation each month. However, assets maintenance only uses 0.15 airplanes per month. So your assets maintenance corporation starts buying 1 airplane every month and you get a build up of airplanes in stock (which I also couldn't find a way to sell the supplies of a corporation once they've bought them? another issue).

None of this is obvious, it took the fact that several of my corps were accruing debt for me to dig into their financials and work this out. Seeing as you can't properly contract for the products that are usually the ones that have the most shortage you end up with supply issues.

It also reduces your ability to increase your score through local and common market contracting.

Is there a way around this I don't know about?
Is this something that is on the agenda to be fixed?
How difficult is this to fix?

I've been trying to find a work around for this and have failed. I ended up closing most of my maintenance corps. Best I came up with was to sell e.g. 1 airplane per month on a 4 month contract then that corp is covered for a few game years and I repeat the contract later when I see they have a shortage again.
