Natural resources have more potential in Simcountry than currently used.

Corporations that are producing natural resources are already more profitable than other corporations and their profitability is expected to increase to much higher levels.

Some C3 countries have many natural resources that are unused. Such countries have the potential to develop into very profitable entities.

In the current situation, such countries can be purchased for a very low price. If owned by a full member, they can then become extremely profitable.

We think that many players do not fully recognize the opportunity.

Recent rounds of resource discovery tremendously increased the number of natural resources that are available and not used.

The availability of unused natural resources is such that we do not think that new rounds of discovery are currently needed.

There are some questions about how to proceed.

- Is it reasonable to keep the price of C3 countries at a single level independent of the number of natural resources.
- Do we need to keep the purchasing of such countries open to all while only full members are able to build such corporations.
- We intend to implement a "Move Country" feature, allowing a player to move a country to a different place in the same world.
It will allow empires to reorganize themselves. However, natural resources corporations will not be able to continue production because the natural resource in the ground will not move with the country.
The target country, where the country is moved to, might however have many more natural resources than the original country had.
- Moving countries will also allow the move into countries that have many many natural resources and radically change the development prospects of the moving entity.
Such a move will carry a cost that should probably depend of the number of natural resources that are available and are unused.

These issues are currently being discussed and some new features will end up implemented.

Can we get better war engine upgrades before the 'move country' feature is implemented? It's a great move for resources but it also allows players to move cities within range to defend far away countries so it's rather another tool for defenders to use among a huge list of others.

I know I'm a bit aggravating about the war engine but that's half of the game play.

The skirmish with Clonan Fed came to 1 conclusion on both sides, Fed Air in combination with batts makes your defense virtually indestructible with loss ratio 15+:1 and heres why.

Weapon Cost Comparison
-Defensive units are cheaper than offensive units by 2-3 fold
-Maintenance for defensive weapons than off weapons is cheaper 2-3 fold
-Defensive Corps produce more weapons than Off Corps 5+(low end) fold
-Ammo is 3-4 fold between def and off

Weapon Fighting Capabilities
-Off max Attack: 1 ground unit division (~2000)---Def max (~5500) 2 ground 3 air.....(Offense outnumbered and under performing)

-Def Batts has 2 fold the chances vs Off Batts
-Def INTs has 3 fold the chances vs Fighters & NFP
-Helios has 3-4 fold the chances vs Off Batts
-Helios has 20% hit rate against conv batts at long range, 15% vs LBCB(missile interception more stable than helios flying 10,000 miles to kill batts with no losses)
-Helios 60% hit rate vs OTanks(Tanks cannot kill helios)
-Helios 25% hit rate vs cruise missile ships(CMS has no anti air capabilities)
-All of these defensive hit rates participate vs 1 smaller offensive unit

It's overwhelmingly like this across the board and adding a function to move cities now means secluded cities are not even able to be engaged.
All players have offensive and defensive goals in a conflict no matter who declared war but other than hitting the declare button nothing else is worth it, half the game engine is in limbo and a huge waste of Sim Money + GC.

Thanks for the nice text Ethelred.

The idea is that a player could reorganize her empire by moving locations.

a move means that everything remains unchanged to all details, only in a different location in the same world.

While unrealistic the move country feature sounds very desirable to help newer players develop as the initial country provided is rarely optimal.

I am of the belief the the cost to purchase a country should become based on the resources available, 30GC for all allows some amazing deals with resources.

Moving countries should require buying the country targeted at cost, plus a "moving" fee, and population penalty something like 10% due to harm and rebellion during travel, loss of road, railroad, water plants in old location, and a score penalty.

umm jiggle that's too much
no one would then move, which would lead to the feature being a waste

@andi the move country feature sounds really great, as u said it would allow us to reorganize our empires which i know a lottt of us and new players would kill for right now.

i think instead of all the extra stuff my friend jiggle was suggesting, just charge us the same 30GC to move the country to its new location

You will be able to move a country to a new country you purchase.
the base price of a country is 30 gold coins.

We intend to make the cost depend on the number of natural resources available in the country.

Natural resources as I already said recently, become strategic.
Profits increase and market values too.

Owning a country with 100+ natural resources is a major advantage that will last for a long time.

Sounds like a good ideal Jiggle Billy.
