Wind farms are now part of Simcountry.
We have complete the wind energy function and it will start delivering electric power to all countries that have wind farms.

It is now possible to set up corporations that produce wind farms.
these corporations produce wind farms and offer them on the market.
you can also contract their production to the country where these corporations reside.

Only countries can own wind farms and each wind farm they have, will deliver 1250 million kWh to the country each game month.
the number will in the future depend on the quality of the wind farm.
We will add this update to the next upgrade.

where to find information about electricity produced and profitability of it. I can see a corporation that produce wind farm, my country buys them and has in stock, but where to see what happens with the energy to understand if this is profitable or not for my country.

Currently, you receive 1250 electic power unit per wind farm each month.
It is added to the stock of the country.

The next stage will deliver more if the quality of the wind farm is higher.

We will also create a new page explaining the total energy production in the country and energy use.

If the country has too much electric power,it is free to sell some of it on the market.

All wind energy products are now showing up on the utilities group.

i need my country to buy resources at lowest 120 quality to keep cost low, so productivity increase per quality sounds logical otherwise the only option would be to buy wind farms at lowest quality too.

It would be nice if countries would consume less resources if quality is higher then i would not need to buy everything at lowest though.

Considering the cost of the farms I think they should produce more electric power

1250 electric power per farm don’t seem like it make much of a difference considering the cost and matenience. Maybe I’m missing something. Perhaps you should make each farm produce 10000 per farm

I just did some back of the envelope math for my nation in Kebir Blue, so feel free to accept, discard, or test with your own numbers.

Each Wind Farm costs 1 Turbine a month in upkeep.
Each Turbine currently costs $40.8M per month.
Each Wind Farm produces 1,250 Million KWH.
Each Million KWH currently is worth $110,230.
Each Wind Farm produces almost $138M per month.

Therefore:

Wind Farms will produce revenues that are almost 3x their operating costs.
Even if you have to obtain Turbines via Immediate Order, your revenues are still more than double your costs.

Once the supply/demand gets evened out either by additional factories being built, adjustments to labor/productivity, or the initial surge of demand dies down, the profitability will likely increase since you won't have to use Immediate Order any more.

As it is, if you ordered a Wind Farm at the beginning when they were about $6B each

I think they're a nice addition, especially if/once pollution starts getting involved and factored into the Wellness Index.

Maintenance of the wind farm is 400 to 600 millions year.
They produce 15.000 units per year and these are now selling at 110.000 or more.
this amounts to 1.5B per year.

a wind farm cost might be around 6-10B.

this is not bad to start with.

consider houwever that a high quality wind farms might produce 2 times more.
and we expect the price of power to increase in the coming weeks and reach 200.000.

Buying wind farms in immediate mode will be very expensive.
The price could reach 30-40 B.

We do not advise you to purchase wind farms in Immediate orders.


We are making more steps into computing CO2 emmissions and wind farms and possible sun collectors will be a factor.

We are also reducing the output of oil/gas electric power generators and of nuclear stations.
The output of these generators was oversized and we are bringing it back to more reasonable quantities.

There is a really big issue with wind farms. It seems wind farms are limited to 200 per country, yet you can buy more.

It seems that you can buy 200 farms and then after that the game puts a hard cap, but yet as you can see for my purchase orders(check discord) you can buy over that limit with the quality effect and pay for them, but not get them.

For me, I'm not worried about the trillion dollars that I lost, but to a new player or somebody who doesn't know that can be horrifically detrimental.
