With the upcoming game installment of CO2 emissions I would like to ask the question if Nuclear Power will be concerned as a clean energy source?
Certainly should not be as polluting as say Electric Power (that uses Oil and Gas). GM and everyone else's thoughts and input.

We intend to add the amount of CO2 that is created by each type of corporation each game month.

a numcleat power generator does not emit any CO2.

There is a problem with nuclear waist but at this stage, it goes too far and we will keep ignoring it.

That's great then! I will and intend to switch over to wind farms / turbines as well as now nuclear power (and get rid of Electric Power) to reduce my CO2 emissions and ensure my countries have clean air.

Are you going to penalize countries / empires who do not switch over to nuclear or wind farms? I hope not. Perhaps just award the players who do.

It will take some time to get there.Gradually reducing your CO2 foot print will help in the long run.

Low CO2 levels should improve your welfare and migration numbers.

Ideas are welcome.

We also think about obvious ways to store CO2 and keep it enclosed.
Injecting it into the ground or the sea is way too expensive.

the cheapest way is to store wood.

One ton of wood contains 0.5 ton of carbon (C).
growing trees takes in about 1.5 ton of CO2 to create 1 ton of wood.
The remaining O2 is released into the air in the process.

The numbers are not exact but good enough.

More envirement issues to think about:

making electric power with gas produces 400 grams of CO2 per KwH.
doing it with coal produces 800 grams of CO2 per KwH.

the larget user of Coal is the steel industry.
it could be converted to use H2 instead.

We intend to creare more types of cars, including electric ones.
Electric cars use (in metric units) 20 KwHs for 100 KM.

This is about 6000 KwH for a car per year (or 6 megawatt hour).
One Wind Farm produces 15.000 giga watt Hour per year. (1250 per month).

Probably too many numbers for one go.

What about having the ability of planting trees and forests as forests and jungles are known as carbon sinks.
I would think using Wood in the Natural Resources section would mean a loss of your forests and or jungles as you would be chopping them down to use the wood as a resource.
Lithium, I think should be come more important as it is currently needed for the batteries that power electric vehicles.

A President from LU sent me a suggestion Andy,

Why not add a proposal to the Security Council menu to grant aid to help new players with an aid package to build wind power farms?

wood is a perfect and a cheap way to store Carbon.
Much better than the stupid idea of storing CO2 in the sea or under the ground.
such experiments failed and were far too expensive.

trees take in CO2 and release O2.
they use carbon to grow.
wood is about 50% carbon.
one metric ton of wood is about 1.5 ton of CO2.

cutting trees down, and keeping the wood in a dry place and planting new trees is a great way to reduce CO2 in the air.

we intend to add wood storage places as a way to reduce CO2.

The only thing you need to do with these storage places is to prevent them from catching fire.

I will look into the idea of the Security council helping new players to set up Wind Farms.
