Several game upgrades have taken place during August.

1. Product Shortages

We have increased the production of several types of corporations. The changes are not very large and are not expected to cause major changes.
as a result, we already see that the shortages in some products are declining.

Some products that has huge shortages for a very long time, are showing some increase in production and lower shortages.
There is a bit more green on the utilization page.

Easier deliveries to corporations that reduced production because of shortages, will cause these corporations to produce more and consume more and shortages may decline even more.

On the other hand, population numbers can resume growth and increase purchases of products.

The result is difficult to predict but most probably, the market will improve and shortages will decline.

More Help to weak Countries

We have seen that some players are having difficulties in keeping their countries at a good economic conditions due to mainly bad health and education.

The conditions declined when we eliminated all help in balancing health and education unless a player explicitly ask for.

This was a required change but it created more problems than expected.
We have introduced some more help.
Some shortages in groups of professionals are seeing small corrections each month.
In the real world, there is more flexibility when there are specific shortages. People are hired to fill jobs even if their education does not exactly match the available job.
We are now making a bit more, small shifts, between multiple professions if there are very high shortages.

The change was implemented about two weeks ago and we already see many countries that were in a dire economic situation due to mismatching education, starting to improve.

The automatic shifts are more prominent in countries with low population and diminish when population numbers are larger.

Nice change. Makes sense, both realistically, and in making the game easier to manage without extreme attention to worker management. Players on another thread have commented that they've noticed a change (probably this one) helping their worker situation. Good job.

We will keep monitoring it all the time.
we have tuned the procedure in the past two weeks and we see stabilization and reduced shortages in many countries.

Education priorities remain very important but the probability of major problems in employment due to shortages is being reduced.

Andy,

Thank you for your continued support.

I have noticed an unusual bug has been introduced with this update.

The number of High Level Managers, Medium Level Managers, and Low Level Managers, seems to increase faster than I am training them. During the game months where this increase happens, I also notice a jump in the number of 35-55 year olds in my population.

I suspect this is part of the flexible workforce changes, to enable improved employment, except I don't have shortages of managers, and it keeps triggering for me.

I've also noticed declines in the number of Low Level Workers, at the same time as the number of managers is increasing far more sharply than education could cause.

So far, I've been manually demoting these extra managers to Low Level Workers. However, that isn't a good long term solution.

Part of the tuning involves adding managers when the numbers of unemployed decline under some very low limit.

More fine tuning takes place to keep it flexible without overdoing it.

we saw the same problem and numbers were tuned down several hours ago.

it works slowly through the age groups.

Andy,

Thank you, I'm glad you are onto the problem.

So far, I've been targeting unemployment of 140,000 Low Level Managers, 100,000 Medium Level Managers, and 50,000 High Level Managers. Is this level too low? And causing the system to think I have a shortage? How many unemployed do I need to keep to prevent the system from thinking I have a shortage?

Good question, Daniel. I seem to be constantly having to change profession of my managers back to low level workers at the moment in order to meet basic hiring or corporation construction needs.

The numbers were high initially and are now tuned down.

I think that the nuber of interventions are much smaller and in most countries back to zero.

If you encounter problems with it, please say so.

we are looking into it each day, multiple times but countries are very different and what is good for manby could be wrong for some.
