Hey!

Anyone else experiencing massive jumps in cost? If so, any idea why? I removed some weapons from this country, and I know that can cause increases in gov't cost (at least according to the tool tip), but I wouldn't imagine a nearly 300b increase would be in order.

Here's one of my countries:

Just briefly checked through my countries and one has a cost of government change almost identical in shape to yours that happened at the same time, though only about a 15% increase instead of the double that you're experiencing. From one of my relatively stable countries too that hasn't made any real major purchases, Wind Farm purchases, or significant military changes, so I can't put my finger on the cause.

Hopefully someone has some better insight for you or Andy can shed light on it. He seems busy though, I'm still waiting to hear back over the spending limit that these wind farms are creating a problem for, which from the looks of your cost of government is a problem you'll be experiencing before too long in that country.

One of my countries recently had my healthcare costs double suddenly, but only one, Jiggle Land Lacerta 2.

There are many reasons for this to happen.
One is tan increase in the number of wind farms.

none can be checked if we do not have recent data with country and world name.

Zero wind farms have been added to this country in over a real life month. Many farms are there but zero are new.

I checked the country.
Government cost plunged back.

There are huge income and cost from wind farms.
cost went up and now down.

we have no idea what exactly happened, sudden large purchases of wind turbines, or one of many other changes.

we can spend many hours on anlyzing logs, but the cost is now back to what it was before.

I suggest you think about what exactly was changed, purchased, or otherwise.
The changes are for sure the result of updates in the country.
or moves between countries.
any info you are able to provide might be helpful.

Spliting the government cost, showing the maintenance of windfarms separately will help.

Hey Andy - I do see that the government cost plunged back.

I truly am not sure what caused it. Of all my countries, I do the least work on that one for the moment. There shouldn't have been any major changes to indices or strategies. The only thing I could think of was a reduction in military costs in the week prior to the increase in government costs. It wasn't in the game month prior to that, it would've been a few real life days before.

Are there any *current* implications for having a deficit of wind turbines that could do something like that? I didn't check previously to see if there was a problem there but perhaps that was a cause? I am aware penalties will be introduced for that in the future.

Regardless, it does seem to have normalized. I don't really have any other helpful information. If costs go up again, I will reply here and investigate further.

We did not implement any consequences yet to a potential shortage of wind turbines.
we said before that we plan to do so but it will be gradual and it will be announced ahead of time.

I have no clue to what happened.
I was not able to trace back but saw it in one of my countries too.

it might have been a glich while updating the system.
Such a glich can stop the computation and restart it later, shifting cost from one period to another.
We never start system activities while processing is running but it happened before.

If you see this again, please also send a mail message. I would then want to see it as it happens.

Wind turbine maintenance will be separated from gov. cost later today.
it will help in the transparency of the financial pages.

The unavailability of materials needed for wind farm maintenance, and especially wind turbines could have caused it.
If not possible to purchase the materials and there is a delay, the next month could bring a surge in cost.
