It's 100 corps in a CEO, not exclusively 100 mining corps, it's a aid to help your enterprise start out.

Many times it makes sense to close some corporations that are not producing natural resources and replace them by corporations that are producing natural resources.
These corporations are much more profitable than all other corporations in Simcountry.

I'd agree with Andy's statement sometimes. Mining corporations are much more profitable than most other corporations, but definitely not all.

Additionally, it isn't as straight forward as closing a couple non-mining corporations to build a couple mining corporations as the response implies when the player is a CEO (which this thread implies). Especially with money as the end goal, making sure you're in a situation where you can keep building mining corps means you're limiting yourself to 100 corps total, where as if you continue to grow (which also helps with the perpetual shortage problem the worlds have with many products), you can grow to have hundreds more corps. So it isn't really a 1v1 mining vs non-mining as a CEO. Long term with the limits on mining building, you're really comparing the profitability of 1 mining against like 7 or 8 of whatever else you build.

Once you have 100 corporations producing natural resources, you can resume building other corporations that are very profitable.
wind turbines are in severe short supply and are very profitable.

Right, but your answer is actually sort of adding to the confusion of the original poster's situation. Your response here seems to imply that a CEO player can have 100 Mining corporations period, but there is a big asterisk with that. In true practice with the way the game currently operates, it is setup such that the CEO player can indeed build Mining corporations right up to the point where they have 100 corporations total in their enterprise.

Mining corporations of course have limited timespans, so say you have 100 Mining and then build 200 more corporations of an assortment of other products. Once the first Mining corporation product runs out of resources and shuts down leaving you with 99, your responses here have seemed to imply that you can just build another to replace. Unless I'm incorrectly reading into your implications. In actual practice, once you pass the threshold of 100 corporations total you can no longer build Mining corporations and that was the confusion that the player was experiencing because he believed it to be as your responses seem to imply.

A mining corporation can function for a whole year.
The accumulating profits are huge.

after a very very long period, profits may start to fall although wind industry corporations are also extremely profitable as a replacement and more products are becoming extremely profitable.

the discussion, for the sake of having a discussion is however very interesting.
