W3C - Moving Simcountry to a new location on December 8

As we announced several times recently, the site where our servers are located is closing by December 31.

We have in the past months looked for a new location and recently closed an agreement at a new location.

we have now also finished the setup of that location, installed one server and tested it.

Now it is time to move.

Monday 8 December, we will stop Simcountry at 3am EST, 9am MET.

We will remove our servers from the old site, and move them to the new location (45 minutes drive).

we will then install the servers in the new location where everything is ready for the installation to take place.

Hanging these servers in the new place and placing the many cables that connect them to the internet and to each other, will take several hours.
Updating many parameters like IP addresses will take place during the installation.

Best case, we hope to be up and running 4 hours later

The Simcountry site is moved to a new location today.
The portal is now fully functional.
Also
Fearless Blue
White Giant
Golden Rainbow and
Tiny Atlas
Are running.

We have some difficulties with Kebir Blue and
Little Upsilon.
we will restart them ASAP.

The traffic to our site had to be redirected to the new IP address.
It took many hours from the moment we have changed the IP address and asked for the traffic to be redirected until the change took hold.

In the process, name servers world wide must update the IP address and it took a long time.
It used to take an hour but today it took more than 6 hours.
Even now, it is not clear that all name servers everywhere are updated.
The main ones are all done.

On top of that we have encounter some wrong files when we attempted to restart Kebir Blue and Little Upsilon.
There are no remaining problems on any of the other wor

Awesome! I noticed the dates on KB and LU haven't moved in a while. I assume they will update with the next game month to stay on track with the rest of the game? Otherwise I'm glad everything went smoothly! ( for the most part )
