Empire World Transfer

I need some help from the old timers to make sure I am not remembering things wrong.

When Golden Rainbow was launched it was a world exclusive to full members. In order to facilitate players moving there, there was a function where you could ask to move some countries (or your whole empire?) to Golden Rainbow. As in, you would start in GR with the same pop, stockpiles, assets, etc.

I never used it, but I think this was a manual operation done by the GMs.

Some players complained that some were going to FB, buying huge stock of weapons and then transferring them to GR to fuel their wars.

Now, does anyone else remember this?

Yes, I moved from KB to GR when it launched. I recall that you would pick a country and request to move to it. I thought it was feature, but your right it could have been just the GM copy and pasting. I believe you got to keep your stuff on the original world too. It has occurred to me that ANDY should do this to get TA Jump started.

The second part of your recollection I don't remember. but I would definitely expect that someone might get on FB and just amass a war chest of weapons and then put in a request to move to GR.

I do believe there was massive interplanetary war around that time, The only player name I can remember from around that time was "Erewhon"

Thanks. I was doubting myself this was a ever real thing, because it was such a long time ago, and I really don't remember when or why it stopped.

There is some merit in bringing this back, and making it so players' can transfer their entire empire to a world of their choosing.

There can be certain guardrails in place to make sure things to prevent abuse:
- The list of origin/destination worlds can limited.
- All countries will be moved.
- A fee per country, such as 30 GCs/country.
- Every country must be owned for 20 game years.

This is worth exploring eventually.

@Laguna I think your recollection is spot on. I remember some controversy around moving to different planets, but I didn't understand it at the time.

Same here. I wasn't in GR for the longest time, and I never really got involved there.
