The main problem is that wind farm corporations have expenses and salaries throughout the entire year
The corporation has to continuously pay worker salaries maintenance costs and other operating expenses even when it is not making sales
Because the corporation only sells its wind farms once per year it can spend most of the year paying expenses without receiving enough sales revenue to cover those costs
By the time the yearly sale happens the corporation has already accumulated a full year of expenses and salaries
Allowing wind farm corporations to sell twice per year would give them revenue more frequently and help them cover their ongoing expenses and salaries
The wind farms are profitable but the corporations producing them need a better sales cycle to become consistently profitable
When I say only 1 in 10 corporations are profitable I mean that out of every 10 wind farm corporations only about 1 corporation is actually making a

Wind farms don't behave that way anymore. I'm not sure when Andy made the change exactly but the ones I have that I just checked (I haven't checked in quite a while) have a base production of 0.20 WF per turn, so 4 months without profit and 1 with sale.

As far as overall profitability, I feel like they do seem pretty well in line with the others when averaged out over time. For enterprise owned, they cap out at $119B sale price per WF. Checking through some of mine, @ 300 salary, they report salary/material/property/maintenance cost total of $15.5B per month, and $18.4B country resources paid the month after a sale. So quick math -> $119B income vs $95.9B costs -> $23.1B over 5 months -> $4.62B per month. Going through just a quick list of random corps I have, very few types seem to average profits over $4B. I'd contend that WFs are in a good spot right now as far as their profitability as a corporation. <

The corporations game had a long term problem with corporations that produce less than one product a month.
These are huge corporations that also need a lot of cash to bridge the months they do not sell.

We have looked into this again in the past months, and as part of the tuning of corporations to make them more profitable, we have increased the production in wind farm corporations and improved their profitability.

We are not completely done with these and other huge corporations and will continue gradual improvements, to make them more profitable while avoiding major shakeups.

We used to have more corporations that produce less than one product a month.
most are now producing more.

We have also resolved the profitability problem of nearly all huge corporations.
