It really is useless, as there are help sections on the forums. It would be nice if a responsible admin could post stickies on the top of each forum section so as to not have new players look around for the same advice that has already been made available elsewhere. The forum style needs to be updated. Sticky-style forums help avoid the useless posts asking the same questions repeatedly by the newer players coming into the game.
Tuesday, February 15, 2011 - 05:40 am
Think back to when you were new, all we had was the Game Documentation It just opened today anyway, it can be figured out and the kinks worked out, AKA keep new players off of the HELP topics older players should be posting on..was my original Idea with the concept. We'll see I suppose.
Tuesday, February 15, 2011 - 01:54 pm
Not only useless, but also damaging.
Tuesday, February 15, 2011 - 04:47 pm
i'm flabber gasted. for all this talk of making the game fair, and blah blah blah... now we see the real colors come out.
yes, it seems a bit redundant. but who ever checks the help forum? i rarely, if ever. most the time newbish questions are put into the general forum where people actually look. now we have a shiny new forum with "beginners" as a shiny invitation to new players to look here for advise... i'm reluctant to judge it, but hopeful this is a move forward.
Tuesday, February 15, 2011 - 05:31 pm
"i'm flabber gasted. for all this talk of making the game fair, and blah blah blah... now we see the real colors come out."
What is that even supposed to mean Josias?
Indeed we have seen the true colors come out, and I'm not talking about Laguna.
You and your bunch have some retarded hard on for LG for apparently no other reason than he is successful, influential and you can't get your filthy hands on his assets on fb. You're all despicable.
This section is useless. That is the hard truth. If you don't look on the help or no one does for that matter, who cares? There is a help section. This is redundant. Anyone could click the help section like any other section of the forum. GMs hardly answer the problems section. Why another section for help, when there already appears to be one. It may help, but I doubt it will end up doing much more than confuse new players because of the amount of information, conflicting at times. How are they to know which advice they should follow or if it is even sound.
Honestly, GMs should be answering the help and problems sections of the forum regularly and consistently. Then start by updating the docs and there would hardly be the need for a beginners or help section.
Take for example the slight inaccuracies in the weapons and war portion of the docs. Although they make time to note weapons, what they do, the ammo they use, and the ranges(which aren't entirely accurate in themselves), they fail to let new players know that air defense has to be taken down first. This is why we have so many new players enter the chatroom saying, "I just wasted 3 trillion on trying to take this c3", or, "I'm at war with this c3 for a week now, and I'm running out of money." There are a few basic widely used methods of taking c3s. Why is this not a part of the documentation? It should have been included with the update to the war engine. There are lots of common sense things people need to know but will not find out unless they find out the hard way, or in the chatroom afterward.
This will just be another section of help and/or problem section questions that will be repeated over and over, because the information becomes outdated, or will become drowned out by too many answers. New players will get lost here as they do on the rest of the forum.
Tuesday, February 15, 2011 - 06:56 pm
This topic is very funny.
There are people who whine, and there are people who act. Simple as that.
This applies to everyone. New and old.
Tuesday, February 15, 2011 - 07:02 pm
You do whine a lot. Still I see no contribution. Your pathetic site is a divergence from where the information should be by default. On the forums and in the docs. Next...
Wednesday, February 16, 2011 - 12:59 am
Yay! First question! Ok, GameMaster sent me this message:
"The Security Council has decided on a new resolution. General Voting has now started on the following resolution:
Give 5 Trillion untied development aid to Chumlyville.
Please submit your vote on the Security Council page."
What does this mean?
Wednesday, February 16, 2011 - 01:36 am
This means that somebody asked a member of that world's Security Council for money, and the council voted and passed the issue. After this happens, all the players on that world get to vote and decide if that player should receive the money. I always vote Yes because "The Security Council has 314.69T SC$ in cash." It needs to be spent somewhere.
The "Security Council" section of links is on the second row of the top menu. If you like, you can apply for aid by messaging someone on the Security Council, but there are some circumstances that don't allow a vote for giving away the SC's money to be proposed. I'm not sure exactly what they are.
Players become members of the Security Council either by winning first place on that world or by randomly receiving membership by being active players.
Wednesday, February 16, 2011 - 02:15 am
well, the old way wasn't working, this doesn't seem exactly the same, but very similar. maybe putting it higher in the list of forums will make a difference. and if thats the case. yes, starting with a fresh thread, is a good idea.
and the idea that wild had was to create a way for experienced players to offer help to newb. in theory, if their are just a few of us, we'd be able to work together enough explain the differences in settings and such. or maybe we'd just complain and do nothing productive... o wait!!
Wednesday, February 16, 2011 - 02:31 am
o, and to the newbs reading this, welcome to SC!!!
Wednesday, February 16, 2011 - 03:35 am
Nice to see so many new players taking advantage of this section.
Wednesday, February 16, 2011 - 05:25 am
I definitely think we should have a guide/introduction/FAQ/whatever for new players stickied here.
Or somewhere. I don't care where.
Wednesday, February 16, 2011 - 09:10 am
I'm suitably entertained by this forum.
Thursday, February 17, 2011 - 12:32 am
"I'm suitably entertained by this forum."
Same. And no, before you assume I'm a newb, I was a president and a CEO before, so I'm not a newb.
Thursday, February 17, 2011 - 08:53 pm
'Sticky Style' forum has a nice ring to it.

It is not.
Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 09:54 pm
Josias, how many people type from your account. The typo's the change in tone... who are you!?
Josias was never a sighs... kinda guy, he always gave *shrugs*
Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 10:39 pm
feel better now?
Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 02:26 am
You remember the old saying "whoever smelled it dealt it?"
Maybe all the people accusing others of be multi's are multi's themselves?
Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 07:33 am
now that it is you, yes, Josias.
Who said multi Keto, learn to stfu once in a while. It could have been a kid, his own, or he was intoxicated.
In any event mind your business. Had I felt the need to accuse him of multi play, I would type it into the post, not beat around the bush, which has left you rather lonely as of late. Learn to hit the mark next time, stop paying attention to a bunch of nothing.
Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 10:32 pm
sticks and stones windbag.
I'll mind business when u mind your business.
Until then STFU!
Thursday, March 3, 2011 - 12:50 am
"Josias, how many people type from your account." Wendy
"Who said multi.." Wendy
jeese, why should i even bother to reply? for the record, again, i'm not a multi, in any fashion.
Thursday, March 3, 2011 - 07:21 am
You bothered to respond because you felt defensive. Why you felt that way was and still is a mystery. 'Type' vs 'play'... not the same and if I was implying that you were a multi, I would have said it literally.
"I'll mind business...."
Yeah you need to mind some business. Start with your own.
Thursday, March 3, 2011 - 07:59 am
thats plain ridiculous
Tuesday, March 8, 2011 - 02:59 pm
As a new player, I would find this thread an utter put-off. I suggest every player who's replied with anything other than "welcome" edit their post and say something less frightening and a little more welcoming, since this thread is directed towards noobs who don't know and don't care about arguments between players.
Tuesday, March 8, 2011 - 06:05 pm
your right accordion, i agree with you. 2 things how ever...
1, after i think, an hour, we can't edit our posts anymore.
2, wendy, unfortunately, seems to be a game feature, that might as well be introduced to new players. sad but true.
Wednesday, March 9, 2011 - 03:26 am
Friday, March 11, 2011 - 07:22 pm
"You remember the old saying "whoever smelled it dealt it?"
My response: why are you bringing up a quote about farting???? ha ha ha
"Maybe all the people accusing others of being multi's are multi's themselves?"
My response: hmmmm I tend to lean in this direction. Those who are vehemently defensive and outraged over being accused of something they are not implies guilt, otherwise they would not be so outraged or care, being confident in who they are. That is just what I learned in my Psychology 112 course last semester. :P
"sticks and stones windbag. I'll mind business when u mind your business. Until then STFU!"
I sense such anger in you, Mr. Keto. Why? It is a game and the forum is a venue for public opinion and speech, within reason, of course. I hope you don't call me a 'windbag' because I post something you don't agree with. :-( You are mean!
Friday, March 11, 2011 - 08:41 pm
Friday, March 11, 2011 - 08:52 pm
certain arguments can be made either way. you could say, that if said person doesn't defend themselves, its because they are guilty. so this is a case that trying to psycho analyze whoes guilty based on their response, can be twisted to mean anything you want, regardless of the actual evidence.
not to mention, why shouldn't a person be upset when accused of cheating? to say they are guilty because they defend themselves, is rather silly!!
Friday, March 11, 2011 - 08:58 pm
How about becoming defensive over an accusation that was never made?
What you did can be likened to a cheating partner caught with telephone numbers in his pockets, who goes onto deflect his own guilt and gets defensive and upset about his partner rifling through his pants.
Wha!? That made about as much sense as WB's 'If Someone Drops Their Car Keys' speech, but you guys made sense of that so I'm sure you get this.
Saturday, March 12, 2011 - 02:11 am
wow, wendy, talk to the hand, because the face aint listening
Saturday, March 12, 2011 - 04:03 am
Windbag and Jan......STFU!!!!!!!! and stop raiding posts!
Jan I thought you quit?
Saturday, March 12, 2011 - 04:04 am
Damn, I must be a beginner too, cause I keep replying in the BEGINNERS forum.
Saturday, March 12, 2011 - 09:52 am
How does anyone 'raid posts'?
Monday, March 14, 2011 - 06:14 am
So now you are calling me a windbag???? Is this how you treat beginners and people who post? Jan, I hope you don't mind if I call you Jan, Psycho_Honey, this person not very nice. Thank you for your help in forum. I been reading the guide.
Tuesday, March 15, 2011 - 01:17 am
I know why they created this forum now. It makes it even so much more pathetic, that I'm not going to bother with it anymore.
Saturday, March 19, 2011 - 02:04 am
This is entertaining
Saturday, March 19, 2011 - 09:29 am
We do aim to please. he he he
Sunday, March 20, 2011 - 12:38 pm
"This discussion is created especially for beginners. As beginner you can drop your questions here and we will try to help you as soon as possible."
......maybe I read that wrong???
Sunday, March 20, 2011 - 06:15 pm
I thought it said beginners too, but my vision is blurred from staring at the screen for the insane amount of time it takes to pop 100's of forts.
Tuesday, April 5, 2011 - 12:57 pm
I recently bought billions of shares in a company to see what would happen. I now own roughly 34% of the company shares; this is the largest stake in the company, and my question is, why do I not control the company now? Even if I am the major shareholder.
Tuesday, April 5, 2011 - 05:01 pm
Bought the shares with what?
If you bought the shares with your country's investment fund, you wont control the corp. IFs never control corps regardless of share percent ownership. If that is not the case and you bought with a CEO then either you are missing something or there is a problem. Post here with corp/country details if you want to have a player (me) have a look.
Tuesday, April 5, 2011 - 11:10 pm
Thank you. I bought the shares with IF.
Tuesday, April 5, 2011 - 11:39 pm
No worries. Owning shares with your IF is a good thing if the corp runs at a profit. Your country's fund will get 34% of the corps profit. I'm not an expert on IFs but I believe a higher fund dividend makes your people wealthier and they contribute more to country expenses. Does you a favour ;)
Find someone who knows the workings of IFs better than I if you want to learn more about them.
Wednesday, April 6, 2011 - 01:45 am
easiest way to figure the bottom line value of your IFs. Take the interest pay out, divide that by half, and thats the amount that makes it into your pocket. most of that is via income tax, but a little bit will will also come through the pop contributions to ed and health
Friday, April 8, 2011 - 03:03 pm
If I dismantle all military units in my secured country, can I then zero my offensive and defensive forces in next year's budget? And use that money elsewhere? Assuming I have no military corporations in my country, what negative effects can I expect if I do this?
Friday, April 8, 2011 - 09:30 pm
Your actual budget setting thing doesnt seem to do much (unless anyone can say better), but yes, for sure, in a secured main country dismantle and/or sell off as much military as you can, you will save loads of money. Military is the most expensive thing, dont have ANY in your main, not needed.
The only exception to this is: when you are making a bit of cash and ready to take on another country (slave) then you will want to get enough offensive weapons to take a C3. Get your economy going first though would be my advice.
(NB for any other new players reading, this DOESNT necessarily hold true for Fearless Blue because there are no secured mains)
Saturday, April 9, 2011 - 12:56 am
Many thanks, Crafty!
May I ask another question?
What are the realistic chances of an unprovoked attack on an unsecured satellite? Do I really have to keep a 50+ unit standing army? Can I dismantle and then rebuild when a threat arises? Or is that just too much wishful thinking?
I'd like to concentrate on my satellite's econ, and lowering defense costs would really help the situation.
Saturday, April 9, 2011 - 01:04 am
If you stay under war lvl 3, you cant be attacked by anyone.
Saturday, April 9, 2011 - 01:36 am
Get out of here! Really?! So, basically, if I don't attack anyone, I don't have to worry about getting attacked? Can it really be that easy? Oh, that's some sweet news.
Saturday, April 9, 2011 - 01:48 am
Lucky you, huh? lol.
Yes its that easy
Saturday, April 9, 2011 - 04:19 am
How many supplies should I give my military units? I heard they use 1 mil supply per month per soldier and officer, is this correct? What about gasoline?
Saturday, April 9, 2011 - 04:41 am
can't tell you the exact numbers, if you are planning on leaving them set up for long periods of time.... double the amount of default supplies and gas. make sure you have supply units set up
Saturday, April 9, 2011 - 04:49 am
Ok thanks. By the way how many supply units should I have? And should I use small or large units?
Saturday, April 9, 2011 - 04:23 pm
I have a question: Seems how Private Corporations are so much more profitable than State Corporations, should i even try to build State Corporations or just wait for enterprises to come to my country, which has a tax rate of 0%.
Monday, April 11, 2011 - 07:01 pm
@gamerno1 - This very much depends on how many garrisons and units you have active that need supplying. Start with 5 say, maybe 10. then after a while check all your units are being supplied, if some are short of supplies build another 5 supply units and so on.
*Pro Tip* - Most players use small supply units comprised of just 125 jeeps, very cheap and its not often that your supply units will get attacked (but that doesn't mean they can't/wont be).
@Mulljohn, it is not correct to say that CEO corps are more profitable. You can make more with state if manipulated right and you have the control over them. A favoured strategy that seems to be used to most advantage is to build state corps and then IPO them to make them public having your own CEO buy 51% of shares. There are even better IPOing strategies but they are more advanced and complicated. If you can successfully do what I just suggested then start trying different ways of splitting up the shares. If you dont have a CEO yet yes get CEOs in (0% tax is great) but also building state corps with 'profit transfer' of 75 -80% will work quite well if you cant get CEOs quick enough. Better to have people employed making very little than unemployed taking welfare...
Monday, April 11, 2011 - 07:51 pm
to through a foot note into what crafty said. i wrote up an ipo guide, here in the beginners forum. check it out
Tuesday, May 3, 2011 - 03:35 am
As a newby i am a little worried that every thread i read just has the same 5 or 6 people bickering about unrelated topics ...
NOTE TO GM's ... not really a good advertisement for those looking to pay for full membership !!
Tuesday, May 3, 2011 - 08:29 am
As a vet i am a lil worried that noobs are more worried about what ppl bicker about than his countries.
NOTE TO GM's Make em all pay and drop war lvl's..No more bickering
Tuesday, May 3, 2011 - 09:07 pm
Lol Blue. Go easy :P
Eddie is sort of right though, not that I've looked at millions of forums but a few, and none of them are as slackly moderated as these.
Then again Eddie, if you're talking about the "general" topic, thats what that forum is for, anything goes (almost!).
Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 12:24 am
Firstly to blue .. " As a vet " im not sure what sticking your hands in dead or soon to be dead animals has to do with this game.
And to crafty i was more referring to the moronic amount of threads on here about economics / beginers info that are all full of the same convo between the same 4 or 5 people !!!
Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 04:40 pm
Mr. Eddie, please shove it up your behind. The forum is for bickering. If anyone happens to learn anything, it is purely incidental.
Monday, May 9, 2011 - 12:47 am
Yes scarlet i was talking about you ... but in case someone missed who the main moron was thank you for pointing it out !
Monday, May 9, 2011 - 02:28 am
see, and i thought i had a good shot at the title, but i must bow before his Eminence
Monday, May 9, 2011 - 02:31 am
Sorry josie..... first in best dressed !!
Wednesday, May 25, 2011 - 05:50 am
Lord Eddie, silence is surely the virtue of little men. Show a little consideration and keep this little truth close to your heart.
Silence in men who are not small is a very large vice.
Monday, May 30, 2011 - 11:29 pm
Not sure if you are still around, but it isn't wise in this sort of game to come in and attack long time, seasoned players. You would be wise to not attack them and to learn from them.
Regarding the forum, there IS a lot of bickering that goes on, but there is alot of help to be gained from the forum. The so called bickering is stemmed from game politics and nothing more or a frustration that a player may have. There are a lot of helpful tips and guides to help you on the forum, some fun threads, something to interest everyone. Don't take everything you read too serious. At the end of the day, bickering or no amongst ourselves, for the most part we all get along. lol
Thursday, June 2, 2011 - 04:58 am
The sense of humor of the vets are evidenced in the "three word stories" and the "Dear Lorelei" threads.
I'm a returnee from '08, and I was a student of Tattoed Priest. I learned an incredible amount from him, and many other long termers.
I also suspect if the old ways of the war game were in effect a lot of the noobs would be a bit more understanding!
Friday, June 17, 2011 - 03:35 am
yes im still around i just dont check the threads very often due to its monotnous regularity for the same conversation. As far as attacking the " seasoned " players i think you might find i mearly pointed out that there were common threads set aside for bickering and insults and that there are those set aside for new players to learn from. If anyone was indeed offended by this statement i would suggest that it was due to their own self judgement of their comments not as a result of mine.
All i was suggesting is maybe an attempt from the seasoned vets to help the newbs out a bit and keep the bickering out of so called " advise " threads... :p
Wednesday, June 22, 2011 - 07:09 pm
They're 'advice' threads. It was discussed in one of our more sophisticated conversations.
Monday, June 27, 2011 - 01:12 pm

Monday, June 27, 2011 - 01:29 pm
how do i get my enterprise 2 make my country money could sum1 please inbox me in london pride if pos if not just tell me here thanks
Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - 04:47 am
One way to help your country with your enterprise is to move corps to your country from your enterprise. Every private corp pays 40% of their turnover to the country every month (this is called country resources used in the game)which can be a lot of bucks. You are allowed 12 of your own enterprise's corps in your country. Another way to help your country by using the enterprise is by building corps that make things your country uses and contract them out to your country. Doesn't really make any money for the country, but it keeps the money "in the family" instead of paying to strangers. Your enterprise can also build/buy corps that your country can't due to level restrictions.
Make sure you have the workers in country before you move mass quantities of your enterprise corps in!

Saturday, August 20, 2011 - 12:07 am
If there is a forum moderator could they please delete or move every message (bickering and insults discussion?) that doesn't ask a beginners question or anwer one including this one.
I had to read half of all this crap before I found a beginners question. Yes there should be a forum for bitchn, complainin etc but not here

Wednesday, September 21, 2011 - 07:43 am
Chairman Tokes, you are right
and more specific questions would help us help you. start a thread, and i'm sure that you'll get your answers.
Wednesday, September 21, 2011 - 08:06 pm
Ok, I am learning little by little.
I am now running into problems from my "learning." I have 26 corporations with nearly no employees, I have no army and no money to buy resources and weapons. Is there a way to reset my account to start over so I can build it properly?
Saturday, September 24, 2011 - 10:22 pm
Go to the homepage, then Register > Cancel Countries
Then you can start over somewhere else (free too)
Thursday, September 29, 2011 - 02:59 pm
Well, not exactly a newb, but thought I'd say "hi" nonetheless.
