I been attempting to look in the documentation but my question is What is a defensive airport used for? Seems I cant really move anything there so is there a purpose for it?

A defensive airport is used for interceptor and helicopter wings.

You set up int wings and it asks you to chose an Offensive airport.

I continued to read the documentation. from what im understanding it allows up to 20000 total aircrafts, so i would believe that once you have that many you build another and it allows 20000 more. (unless im mistaken)

Correct. If you don't have enough, your troops get forcefully sent to inactive reserves if you don't have enough bases and airports.

I believe that the military bases and airports are where the weapons are stored and the "Off" bases are where the weapons are assembled into units.
