I am trying to get rid of my trade deficit. I started setting up contracts between my corps so they would buy from each other instead of the world market. At first it worked but like a dork I was like: If it worked a few times it should work every time. Now my imports are far higher than my exports. I thing it has to do with the quality of goods I'm buying/selling. By the way my country is Fordland in White Giant.

If you sell too much of your product to your local market, you are not selling what you need to, to turn a profit on the world market, your local market buys and sells at market value, which sucks for a lot of items, but if you sell the excess for high enough, like 300% of the quality, you tend to break even, my advice is go public with them first, they will be more profitable that way, in the works of doing that myself with some of mine. if you do about 25% contracts it wont be all of the supplies you need, unless you have multiple of the expensive ones.

I got it under control. It seems you should only buy things that have a super high demand localy.
