There are no advantages and only disadvantages. Your main country (which is in secured mode) can still attack and invade C3s (computer controlled countries). If you take a C3, that won't be in secured mode. That country can be used to attack other players. Attacking other players with your main country out of secured mode will most likely mean you will lose your country quickly.
