There are 3 different methods for taking over c3's. As you rise in war levels I recommend switching from 1 to the other. This guide will show you how and why. Also some methods are cheaper, or faster than others.

(War levels 1-3)

I like to use an airforce to fight at these low war levels. A c3 has very few interceptors and no stealth bombers to contend with. Plus it's a lot faster I find. You will still need land units for painting.

Setup 4 land units with jeeps only if you want to save cash. If not use whatever land units you have. Begin painting soon as the war starts. Always paint thoroughly.

Set up Air Force Attack and Bombing Wings. Comprise these wings of 300 fighters and 100 bombers only. Use these units to go against the c3 air defence.

To do that select a town or a country within the enemy c3. Use your fighter/bomber wings and attack the defence of that town or county. Important to attack the defences and not the target.

After each attack a war alert will popup with a damage report. You'll see that your killing the interceptors whilst loosing your bombers.

Keep attacking the defences until you see your no longer killing the interceptors. If your wings are running low on bombers dismantle and rebuild full wings again.

The bombers act as a shield for your fighters. The enemy Interceptors target them first. So whilst they're being targeted the fighters will destroy them.

Now with the interceptors gone go into select a target from a list, go to military units and attack the interceptor wings direct with your fighter bombers. You wont suffer any losses attacking them. Your just destroying the unit so it cant be reinforced.

With the interceptors down you can now bomb them at will. Create a new Air Force Attack and Bombing Wing. This time just put 400 bombers in the wing. Use that for destroying targets.

As your doing all this you should be painting at the same time.

Before attacking targets I usually destroy the defences first. You can attack the target straight away but you'll loose more bombers.

I target the corporations first. They take so few bombs to destroy. If I'm just raiding the country then I'll kill all the corps. If I'm going to keep the country then I'll just destroy the shitty corps.

At the lower levels sometimes all you need to destroy is the corps if you've painted thoroughly.

If not move onto the cities. Again attack the defence first then the target. That should win you the war.

Weapons and ammo needed is hard to be exact. As you go up the levels you'll need more each step.

The minimum is 300 fighters and 500 bombers for war level 1. That's enough to create 1 wing for killing the interceptors and 1 wing for bombing. Buy your weapons and ammo at the max quality 330.

As you go up you'll need more bombers for sure. You could stick with 300 fighters but you'll need to keep dismantling and rebuilding the wing so as the interceptors don't kill them when your taking down the air defence. Each level up adds more and more Interceptors. I recommend 1000 fighters for wl 3. That's enough for 3 wings plus 100 spare just incase.

50k fighter missiles and 50k precision bombs will be more than enough to get you started.

A cheaper way for destroying targets is to use long range divisions with heavy tanks and artillery after you've destroyed the defence. At these low levels though I don't see the point. It'll slow you down as they don't have long range and you need to wait till they get close to each target. Plus you need to take out the helis.

As you get higher up the levels you may consider this.

(War level 4+)

This is where I recommend switching from airforce to ground attack. As you go higher the c3's will start having significantly more Interceptors but not as many Helicopters. Considerably less infact. Stealth bombers are also added at this point

For this approach use offensive anti aircraft batteries and mid range missile batteries. I create Long range divisions consisting of 500 OAAB and 350 MRMB.

This time instead of bombers acting as the shields the MRMB's take there place and cover your OAAB's. Plus you can paint with these units at the same time.

Same as before. Attack the defence of a town or county. But this time you'll see your killing the heli's in the war alert popup. Keep attacking until no response. Now go destroy the heli wings to stop them reinforcing. Again you wont take looses

Now create some long range divisions with 850 MRMB's only. Use these for clearing the defence first at each target and then attack the target. Start with the corps and move onto the cities.

Every level higher you go you'll have to destroy more and more targets to win the war. Eventually you'll need to start destroying forts. Killing forts really chews up your ammo.

At this point I recommend using heavy tanks and artillery to destroy them. Destroy the defence first with your MRMB's than attack target with tanks and arty.

This method is a little slower than airforces but not to much. You may consider using this for the lower levels aswell.

3rd way to take c3's is by using a navy. I wouldn't recommend it for beginners but thought it worth a mention as there's a few people doing it.

The strategy is to setup strategic carrier groups and move them in range of the c3. Use special forces to paint or land units if you have a border.

You'll only use 1 weapon and that's ship based cruise. All you do is fire straight at the target without worrying about the defence. Keep attacking till target is destroyed.

I don't recommend it because sea based cruise missile are hard to buy on the world market and take time to gather stockpiles. Plus you'll need a whole bunch of other weapons just to create the carrier group which you wont be using.

At the very high wl's though this will be a good strategy as the c3's have many stealth bombers. This method takes the SB's out of the equation. I consider it a flaw to be honest.

If you wont use the navy method at the higher war levels you need a plan for dealing with the SB's counter attack.

Best way is to have 3 countries in a federation together. When you attack, a wing from each country will move to intercept. Setup 1 long range division, Put 800 defensive anti aircraft missile batts in it and 50 mid range batts. Use 1 mid range batt from this unit to attack anywhere in the country. The aim is to set off the SB's counter against your int's and your 800 AAMB to drain them.

Keep attacking with 1 mid range batt until the counter attack stops. Do this before setting up any other offensive units or risk them being attack by the SB's.

That about covers it. Hopefully it brings things up to date and is useful for some.

I'm happy to answer any questions

Stealth Bombers do not come into play until war level 5.

cool guide... personally I use a group of OAAMB to take out air defense and MRMB to take out the defenses of targets.

Thanks guys

That's another way to do it Frankie. You don't really need shields. I do it so I only ever have to replace 1 weapons system, Bombers or MRMB's.

You move land forces into the country you are attacking, systematically taking enemy territory under your control. A must to win any war

Thanks Lucky. Just moved up to WL 3 & noticed it was taking a bunch of fighters to kill the interceptors. Didn't know about the bombers as shields, but was setting up offensive AA batteries as new long range divisions hoping to help. You didn't mention Missile Interceptors, are they not worth it?

Your welcome. For ground attack use mid range missile batts as sheilds. Plus only use 1 kind of attack, ground or air. Ground destroys heli's air destroys ints. It's a waste of ammo if you killing both.

Missile intercetors are a defence weapon. You dont need them to fight c3's

I have Missile Interceptors in my ground units I would paint with, & have close to the target so the Fighters & Bombers would be more effective. When I did this the report would say "losses were reduced by missile interceptors" or something similar, so I thought they were useful in reducing offensive losses. Maybe they just aren't worth the expense with your methods since losses are already so low?

No it doesn't work like that. Although it does make sense that it should work that way. But no, your defence weapons only fire when fired upon by offence weapons.

If i remeber correct. Haven't fought a battle in a while, plus the only part of the news I pay attention to is losses. The missile interceptor message is for the country being attacked. Not the attacker.

Okay, I'll post this here as it seems logical. I just spent about two hour clue as to what I bought or spent.

Julia Child and Ghram Kherr just might be able to figure out how to make a military unit but I couldn't with two sheets of scrap paper, it's 1 build a base then a supply but it needs to be mobile to attack but then you need ammo and two eggs, 1 cup of milk and wala a unit.

Suffice it to say that making an army is a length and for a game, overly complicated. I'm trying but I'm hopelsssly lost and this is ne3ded to get to level 3. If I can't understand it I might as well quit, right?

I have a tendency to drone and I apologize for this. Aries was very patient in helping me with my economy, so kudos to Aries for his help and patience.

Just a silly little question. Since the bombers are just shields in your Fighter squadron, can you get bomber at just 120 quality, then get high Q bombers for your Bombing squadron? Seems a waste to buy high Q bombers for just a shield. Or would that cause me to lose more bombers than otherwise?

Wednesday, December 9, 2015 - 02:51 pm Click here to edit this post
All the bombers you buy combine together in your country inventory and average their quality together. You could keep them separate through some maneuvering using space, but it seems like it would be more work than it was worth.

When winning the war I took control of the country. My question is I don't want it to be a slave country I wanted it to be integrated in to my country so I don't have two different pages to go too. Is there a way to integrate the country or no.

You can transfer the population of that country into your main. If your main is over 20 million population you can transfer 400,000 unemployed workers a game month. 200,000 of your country is under 20 million.

To do this you have to destroy/cancel all of the corporations in the country you want to drain.( I suggest keeping 3 corporations in tact after a war so the country doesn't start automatically building them )Once the war is over go to Automation. Uncheck ALL boxes. Then go to Trade -> Trade Overview -> Details of all products currently being purchased and cancel all of them. This keeps the slave from using up its surplus money. After you're done go back to your main country. Go to Departments -> Labor -> Exchange Professionals With Others -> Click "exchange more professionals" Then type in the name of the slave you wish to take from. Afterwards you'll see a list of worker types and the number you can take for each. Type in the numbers you wish to take on the receiving end. You can take up to 400,000 population a game month if your country is over 20 million. 200,000 if under. I suggest taking engineers and hospital staff first, then worry about the rest of the workers. Try to keep it to where you have a balanced workforce. Most countries have 11 million people. I usually manage to take 1-3 million from every slave before disbanding it and moving on to the next slave. This sounds like a time consuming process but it is actually very simple and quick once you get used to it.

I use this method to get 10s of millions of people without spending gc however at the cost of avg age and a low child population.

I have a country over 80 million that was supplied with population 100% by slaves, same with another one that is around 73 million. The only downside is that your population will not give birth to enough babies in time to keep up with the new population.

I suggest keeping a 130 health index to keep up the production of babies.( lol ) After around 70 million your country will slow down natural birth rates and your young population will start falling. Once you get your desired population I'd set up 3-4 "Young Slaves" once you transfer the workforce you can out of them, you leave them be and slowly keep taking out low level workers and nurses while lowering your health index to around 75-80. Low level workers and nurses are usually the youngest of the population.

You'll be losing population very rapidly while resupplying the lost elderly with younger population. Once your avg age goes below around 35 you can set health back up to 120-130 and the country should become more stable.

There is a better method out there to transfer population that saves you from having a high avg age, however it would require more work and I may write it in its own thread. I'm sure most of the vets on simcountry use this already but it would be nice to show it to newer players to expand their empire.

To answer your question directly and simply. You can not integrate another country into your main, however you can move population from it into your main and then cancel it once you're finished stripping it. This is a part of raiding.

I ran into a slight oddity.
From my slave country, I could only transfer 200K.
But from my main country, I could move 400K.
So, the country you're logged in at the time matters.

It is the population of the country you are moving people to. Your main likely has over 20M population. You slave may not. Countries with over 20M can import 400k per game month. Countries under 20M can only do 200k.
