Looking for a mentor

Hi! I'm new to this game. Seems really fun but I can also tell it has a sharp learning curve. Well my first goal is to get %100 hiring. I'm pretty sure if a corporation isn't at 100% hiring, it's not at its full potential. I was able to figure out that education priorities directly effect the workers my country produces, so I changed the numbers around and I'm waiting to see how that goes. After my corporations are running profitably and stable, I would like to be able to conquer another country. I'm not an extremely military minded person, but I do see the benefits in having an army and conquering another country.

Those are decent short-term goals but they constitute more of a means to an end. A web search of the simcountry forums on the topic of education priorities will help you find info relating to the first and a look on this very Beginners Forum will find several guides that show you how to conquer a computer country.

This is not the stuff requiring a mentor. An apprentice or protégé is one who sets sights on a higher achievement and attracts a mentor by showing a necessary commitment towards putting forth the needed effort. The mentor will then challenge the apprentice with a series of steps that will work towards the apprentice achieving his or her aims.

It is only interesting to me if you:

1. Set significantly high goals for yourself.

2. Show that you will do some of the "work". Meaning viewing some docs, reading useful forum info, and doing some of your own testing.

That's true. I am sure if I did some more digging I could find guides on just about anything really. I do see your point. I'm not entirely sure how I enjoy playing yet, but if I had to say it I would say I'm an economy then military guy. As in I would boost the economy to purchase and produce the things I need and then set out on military conquests. Then rinse and repeat with the countries I conquer.
