Can you start as an Enterprise?

Can you start as an Enterprise as a new player?

If so, how? The signup page seems to only allow countries.

I believe you can cancel the country you have and then opt for an enterprise instead. I must warn you. Enterprise is very boring.

I think I figured it out.

The game really seems to be designed such that an enterprise complements a country rather than being something that plays well on its own.

Not just that but you can play like an enterprise by making a country very profitable.

The most profitable biggest enterprise would never be as influential as the most strongest country in a certain world. It's like comparing the biggest company in the world (Walmart) vs. the strongest country in the world (USA). Which one would you rather have control of? With a country, you could have the economic power and also have the military power.

Also, if I recall correctly there are limits on the number of corps a CEO could have.

An enterprise is more of an infinite warehouse to store products in. Mostly military assets. Other than that an enterprise serves good purposes to those who have a country as well. Having your own enterprise corporations in your country from foreign enterprises gives you the "I'll do what I want with my economy" option. You can set the salary of those corporations and you can set tax as high as you want without anyone moving out. If you do want to start an enterprise with a country or not you should build as many corporations as it can hold eventually. Simply because of profitability. Once an enterprise hits its corporation build limit you can gain more corporations by buying majority shares of public corporations. However you can not manage money in public corporations. Which is why in general public corporations are bad for a enterprise unless that public corporation is in a country owned by the same player as the enterprise. I learned that th

I keep seeing that you can store military assets for free in corporations, but I don't completely understand.

Is this for offensive weapons, such that you don't need to buy upkeep?

Not in corporations.
corporations can keep some unsold products and some, producing maintenance products could hold some stocks of weapons that are used in the production process.

Enterprises however, can have weapons, ammo and any other product stored. They can trade with the countries in the account (same world) and can trade on the market.

They have no maintenance cost (cost of training the army) for these weapons.

also, storing any products on space stations is possible too.
