A message from The Foundation

It is my duty to inform you as new aspiring Presidents and CEOs, SimCountry is easy.

Consider this: In just about a month's time, I have increased my assets from zero to a considerable sum. With very little effort of my own. My enterprise has went from last place when I created it to poised to win the number 1 award. I have added over 550 corps through various maneuvers. My empire is lacking because I have not spent much time building it. My enterprises have taken precedence.

For all the difficulty this game presents, growing a new empire and enterprise has been less than challenging. I know at first things may appear as difficult as any thing could be, but this is a surface appearance. I challenge you new players to begin thinking beyond surface level operations when approaching building and participation in the game.

It is a common misconception that new players are at a significant disadvantage to compete with great powers within the game. I discard that notion. I have done all that I have in my account in around 30 days of premium membership. Space trade and direct trade has added a considerable sum of gold to my account. I am properly planting 2 empires on 2 worlds, both complimented with an enterprise. Both fully funded with cash and the necessary gold requirements for monthly entity renewals. I was able to do this logging in a fraction of the time and less effort than I had imagined. Something around 1/5 of what I expected.

Please try harder and not give up so easy. Discover, innovate, and achieve great things in SimCountry. The game is rewarding on many levels. Don't hesitate to message players in the Hall Of Fame. You know many of the prominent players from this forum. Do not shy away from asking when you run into minor confusions. The most confusing aspects of the game are counter-intuitive, not difficult. There is a huge difference between the two.

Experience makes what was hard, easy, but it is true this isn't as hard as it seems at first. I think the hardest thing for many people is the patience to wait for anything to happen. To wait for changes to take effect.

Yes, this isn't an instant gratification experience. That is what makes SimCountry challenging. It takes time to build and compete. It is a medium/long time frame strategy. My previous experience is of course a help. But I don't think it is a limiting factor for newbies entering the game. With how much the game has changed in the last two years I would have to say the benefit of my previous experience has been decreased significantly.

Yeah but I feel like I'm doing good because of the beginner funds I receive at the end of the month

The ceiling for this game is amazingly high. You must think big and constantly set new, achievable, goals for yourself to stay interested and grow. The game-provided achievements set such a low bar. There are many ways to generate assets. Look for the ways you find most enjoyable.

Hehe, personally I am aiming to lay claim to entire regions and continents. Little Upsilon had one group who did this and I have to say it really drove the narrative with how the planet worked.

So everyone beware the day when a decree is given, X region is there by invitation only. It'll be fun to try and impose that kind of backstory on a planetary community. It sure was back when...
