I have population shortage. I hope the GM lower the price for us to bid more on population. GCs and population will remain in the simcountry forever. I have 14 GCs in my account, and It would be nice if I can bid 7M people into the country. LOL. A free member should not ask too much, I think.

Are you not able to go premium? It isn't very expensive. If you can't just downsize or close some corporations. Or you could raid to get population and build that main country up as much as you can through raiding.

Yes, but its best to do the 9 months for 36$ because you get more gold coins for your money. And if you need more gold coins than keep leveling up your game level. Or if you want the coins for population than you need to just learn how to raid for pop to save your GCs for something more important, which there are guides for created by Zen.
