- If I destroy the defensive airport (Computer controlled) will it make their remaining air units non-operational? (no base to work from) or less effective

-similar to above, any way to target the defensive radar planes?

-units apparently support each other when in range (true or am I misinterpreting this?) Is there any value of making a Missile Defense Brigade to minimize batterie damage in attacks?

-Similar to above but have a land unit in range when air attacking a target?

- other than size any difference between a Battalion a Brigade or a division?

1. No, I don't think so.

2. Same, I don't think you can. I wish there was more documentation on these. Other than throwing a few in your own country, there is nothing I am aware of telling how many you need or whether quality matters. I am not sure they add anything to the war game right now, really.

3. Regular (Non-mobile) units supporting the defense is new since I played last. It seems to work as I encountered this right away against a C3. Making regular units with the right kind of weapons, in quantity, to counter certain attacks, like a Missile Defense Brigade, is likely viable.

4. Similar answer. Usually, the most helpful unit, with the most appropriate weapons, is chosen to respond to an attack. This is likely based on the default weapon loadout of the unit, regardless of weapons actually included in it.

5. Just the size difference.

Two units are currently called on to support the defense.

we have in fact promised to reduce this to one unit.
I have some doubts but promised to do it.

before this is done, we want to make one or two more rounds, improving the functionality of land forces.

we have done so before. we have no complaints now about land forces but we plan to improve them more and diversify them more.

"Two units are currently called on to support the defense."

This is kind of unclear. My understanding is that the defense currently includes:

1. The weapons located wherever you just attacked.
2. An interceptor or helicopter wing, whichever is more appropriate.
3. Up to 2 federation wings.
4. Up to 2 mobile units.
5. Up to 1 regular (non-mobile) land unit.

So, in fact, up to 6 units can be called on to support the defense.

We have committed to reducing the number of federation wings to one.

Hey Andy, if you see this, could you give us any insight on how the choice is made for which regular/non-mobile units is called on to assist against an attack?

For example, if an attack occurs by, say, an Attack and Bomber wing with some mix of fighters and precision bombers. Nearby, there is a "Division", a "Missile Defense Division", and "Defense Division". Which unit is selected to be the 1 regular/non-mobile unit to assist in the defense? Is it based on the type of unit, or the actual weapons within the units? Like, the one that was created with the most anti-aircraft missile batteries? Are defensive units preferenced to respond first before an offensive unit is?

What about other examples, like what will be selected to defend against a Long-Range Division consisting of Offensive AA Batteries and Mid-Range Missile Batteries? etc.?

In general, the unit which is best fit to support the defence will be used.
It is a combination of having the weapons that will be effective, and the ammunition.

After the attack, units may have suffered losses and used ammo so the next time, a different unit may be chosen.

Also of course, range is a factor.
weapons and ammo must be within range or they are not taken into the equation.

Okay, so it's based on the weapons/ammo in the unit? To be clear, it doesn't look at the type of unit at all for the regular/non-mobile unit?

Losses effect the unit composition in real-time. I've already had experience seeing that in general. Also, I skimmed all the game update notes since I played last. I believe they have to be within 40 range from what I remember seeing.

Range can be controlled a bit by adjusting your own map. I've used this edge in the past, but thought I saw something about an upcoming map update? Is this still something in the works? Would it transfer or replace any map changes I make?
