Distance measuring

I trying to figure out how it works. It says Mid range missiles travel 600 miles, if I go to measure distance and measure 600 is that in miles and would this be the correct way to measure distance for all weapons?

Yes, and miles and km are essentially used interchangeably. Distance is just distance, doesn't really have a unit name.
