Weapons at depots (Fearless Blue)

When you construct a depot in another country weapons can be deployed to this depot. Both offensive and defensive weapons. I pressume defensive weapons are there to defend the depot from attack, but why offensive weapons?
Does the depot act as a store for supply units to resupply your units?

depots are used as staging areas for offensive weapons and also act staging for supply units.

I don't think the depots are working. I haven't been able to air transport military units. I cancelled my last flight because it has taken over a RL week. I couldn't keep air transport units supplied with fuel either. I sold most of my air transport units back to the market. Has anyone had any luck using air transport or drops in a war.

yes, i use them for all long distance ventures. they work well.

i have used them as well, but I can't ever get the air transport units to return back to their home country.

If you use your air transport units and can't get them to return, what do you do? Will the game allow them to be dismantled in different country?
