His Holiness Aaron Doolavay president of El Loco has declared war on the peaceful country Presipaute du Groland on White Giant. This action has been unprovoked and is a threat to world peace. Please apply whatever means are available to you to help persuade him to cease and desist this unjustified action.

Respectfully,
Duchess Gloriana XII

General Curtis LeMay, What are you doing still on active duty? Last I knew of you was in 1963. Do you remember your job at that time? I do.

I always thought that was WHY you picked that name.

You should remember alot of the younger generations never heard of LeMay.

Really???

LeMay and policies of the time is why the Navy now controls "most" of the strategic weapons.

The USAF considered strategic weapons as most properly deployed in offense rather than defense.

I'm not talking about tacticals, all major commands have those to use. And I'm not attempting to debate the military or political reasons for the use of strategic weapons.

Times where different in 1960's, hell they where even different in the 1970's but I've never considered strategic nuclear weapons as offensive in nature.

I always figured what started out as tactical would rapidly go strategic anyway, but wtf you either stop them in thier tracks or get rolled over.

The threat of strategic weapons was/is enough to make anyone stop and wonder if it's really worth it.

So while I consider LeMay and his policies as damned dangerous, I do have to grant the fact there were enough people like him to make anyone stop and think.

As to whether he was more prone to escalating a possible exchange of strategic weapons or scaring the other dogs away from that "bone", is something we will really never know.

Since we didn't, and they didn't, probably some of both. The man was definetly not someone you wanted to try and bluff as his plan for response was almost always the same.

Actually, most of the vets on WG don't encourage war, especially not of the unprovoked kind.

I can't speak for other worlds ...

Boring or stable? WG is actually quite interesting at the moment, and that is nothing to do with unprovoked war :)

Every world is characterised by the players in it and players tend to gravitate towards the world that best reflects what they want from the game at any given time.

White Giant's grammar schools is what attracted me. Their schooling really prepared for my big day when I posted on this forum for the first time with legible sentences and cohesive thought.

You go Aaron, boy! Wait, how many Aarons are in this game? I mean, there's this one CEO I know, and that other Aaron is completely different. Jesus, what's with all the same names? (So far, the most common I've seen is Brian).

Don't care as long as it doesn't happen to me. I'd like to give cause for war first.
