Can a Fed gang-up on a C3? (Little Upsilon)

Just curious....

Can a fed gangup on a C3 and help conquer it for particular country (say the country that declares the war)?

Alternating the spoils, this would be somewhat interesting. (assuming it could be done) No?

People of the same fed can dec on the same C3. However there are not really enough 'spoils' to warrant such an action.

'Alternating the spoils..' I meant: If they alternated assisting each other in consequtive wars.

War 1: fed helps conquer a C3 for fed member A.
Fed member A gets all the spoils.
War 2: fed helps conquer a different C3 for fed member B.
Member B gets the spoils.
and so on...

But I understand what you mean. Food for thought. Figured it might be a fun excercise for a fed. Help estblish lines of communication, strategies, etc.

Actually sounds like a neat idea to me. Gets everyone some combat experience, spreads out the cost of the war (ammo, etc.)making it cheaper.

And it seems like a pretty good way to extend all the Fed members empires a lot more rapidly than doing it on their own.

I like it. Another positive addition would be, as you say, establishing lines of commo, devising team strategies, finding out the strengths and weaknesses of the different members.

So that, down the road, should the Fed decide it was ready to take the step towards PvP it would already have the knowledge and experience of war, even if there's a vast difference between c3 and real person. Better than going into that with no experience.

So the next question is:

Assuming the fed won the war, how is it determined who get the C3? The first fed member to declare war, the member that deals the death-blow, or would there a fed vote?

Now that's a good question. One I'm afraid I can't answer, although my educated hypothesis (guess) would be that the first dec would be "awarded" it by the GM. But that's just a guess.

Reading between the lines is a little knack of mine. Guess it's why I was a Political Science/History double major in college. But keep it a secret, okay?

Yeah, good idea, but even better I reckon is for fed-members to pitch wars between each other for real experience, you dont have to actually take the country, just hit the end war now button. OK no spoils per se, but a good exercise, good for 'comms', male bonding, lol (/me beats his chest).

Ahh, guess there isn't any call for PvP experience now, all most anyone does is take C3's, no disrespect, but PvP is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT ball game.

c3s are sort of like the way the U.S. fought in Vietnam: tie your offense down and only play defense. Can't win a match without scoring a goal, the best you can do is tie.

That was one thing I forgot to mention in my previous nostalgia trip. The little "brushfire wars" and the "test the other guy's defenses" wars.

Much chest beating, and good forum arguments about whether the defender had kicked the attacker out or if the attacker just got bored, felt sorry for, or was "just teaching a lesson to" the defender.

But, as our Fearless Leader is fond of saying, that's why FB is there.

Perhaps the player who wins the C3 could be decided by the Federation's rules? The Fed could vote between having a vote everytime, the deathblow, or whoever deals the most war damage. Just an idea.

Frank: Sounds like this can be now under the current system-of-play the GMs have setup. Should just be a matter of joining or assembling a vibrant fed, and trying it.

Nathanikus: I think Kitsune is correct. The country that reduces the C3's defense index to zero (the death blow) is automatically awarded the C3. If the fed coordinates its attacks correctly (leaving the last bits of C3 defense for the intended winner to destroy) then it should theoretically work.

Theoretically... I have yet to try this out.

my question has to do with whether different attacking countries can have different war levels. i expect that if a level 3 is part of the coallition and the other attacking country is level -0- or 1 that c3 weapons would be at the level 3 level.

I would reckon Pars'. That begs the question... if the WL 0 actually fired the winning shot, would he become WL 3 straight away?

i wouldn't think so, but i've made a proposal to our young fed members to do exactly what we are talking about here. i'd like to see them expand their empires.

Yeah, I believe Jonni said somewhere that the GMs were working on this. But in the mean time they have prevented even countries from the same empire from joining together to attack a C3. Hope she's correct, and they fix it soon. This would really be interesting.
