Is it worth fighting a C3 with an air-force? You would have to destroy 10 Interceptor Wings to begin attacking, then use expensive precision bombers along with their ammunition, and take extra time to air-drop Special Forces

On a side note, How would you attack a C3 that you do not border? Also, how long does a Air Base Construction Unit/Rapid Deployment Unit take before constructing an Airbase to airlift units?

To answer the first question, yes and no. It is worth it if you just want to take the C3 quick and easy, and if you are using high quality air units to minimize losses. Then on the other hand, it is much more cost effective to use ground and take out the helicopters which are fewer in number, but it takes a little more time and effort to invade with ground units.

Rapid deployment units set up an airstrip instantly in C3's... It just takes the normal amount of time to have them airdropped.

Attacking a C3 without a border with air is easiest, providing that the c3 is within range of your fighters/bombers. Just air drop SF, destroy interceptors and bomb away. With ground you will need to air drop a RDU, set up an air strip and airlift all of your ground units (takes some time, but is not too bad depending on how many ground units and how many Air Transport Units you have set up).

Go to the 'Beginners' forum and look for the topic titled 'C3 War Guide'. I bumped it to the top.

I'm not your typical "beginner", per se, but I'm one who comes back SC way back, and I love the nostalgia it brings. I know how to take a BORDERING C3, but one that doesn't border me is completely new. Every chance I get, I invade C3s, for a income and population, but the waiting for country to be open for attacks takes months.

I saw that you bumped it, and I've seen it, but that you very much. I find the article advice very costly, not much for ground, but the air wings, 5 fighter wings and 50k missiles is costly. And I'm not much of an air power player.

However, do you know how long it takes to airlift perhaps one unit across, 800 weapons? I know how to airdrop SFs in, but they can't do much other than paint.

I have a complete navy that can assist, but unfortunately landing units aren't implemented (Yet?). Also, at which time would you suppose its safe to declare war and not lose in rewards due to airlifting taking too long and country processing?

I appreciate your input.

Cool, another returning player. Most of us can't stay away for long lol. Welcome back.
I have not timed the airlifting of ground units, but it seems like I schedule my airlifts and then I will go do some maintenance on my countries or go to chat for a bit and then come back shortly there after and the airlifts are either complete or close to it. It is a matter of minutes, if I had to guess 5 to 15. I think I will time it next time just for having the information.. I am sure someone else around here has it timed to the minute lol.
Countries process around the beginning of the month.. If you declare war at the beginning of the month, then with the little time it would take for you to drop an RDU, set up airbase, and airlift your units you should have plenty of time from the time you start attacking until the next monthly processing. I could be wrong, but I don't think the monthly processing will affect the money you will have in the c3 when the war is over.. But it will make sure that the C3 isn't able to increase its war index a little from rebuilding destroyed targets.
You should stop in chat from time to time, there are occasionally some knowledgeable players in there if you ever have a quick question.

Well thanks, I don't want to start a war at the start, only to find that the country spent money buying something. But hey, I guess you don't know till you try.

By the way, this just so happens to be the 19th time I've fought at WL 3, so a game prompt pops up that if I win the war, I will automatically be moved to WL 4, which is odd. I've never seen this pop up before, not even in my past account.

First, is this true, and a new game feature?

Second, is it worth fighting a WL 4?

Thanks in advance

Yes, sometime in recent months the game started forcing players up war levels for every 4 C3 victories. So you defeat 4 c3's at war level 3, and then you will be forced to move up to war level 4.

I am not sure if or at what war level c3 raiding stops being profitable. I used to make profit at wl 6 in the past, not sure how it is now or if it has changed as I am only at wl 3 currently myself.

Well that's unfortunate, do you just continue going up the ladder until the water rises and you drown? Things have changed alot since I've returned...

Wasn't War Level 3+ for premium? Well I just hope you get some choice instead of being shoved up another level.

I air lifted 4 long range divisions with 850 weapons each. Two divisions were missile batteries only and took less than 10 minutes. The other two divisions were artillery and tanks and took about 15 minutes. They probably took the extra time due to higher volume of ammunition.. This was done with 8 Air Transport units set up

Oh, and the distance from airport to RDU airstrip was 1300 miles. Not sure how much distance affects the amount of time though..

I used to do that all the time. I'd send some OAAB mixed with MRMB and kill air d then use precision bombers. (I was too lazy to send divisions around to all the corps) probably took 20 min start to finish.

I used to do the same CL, but at some point I became a cheap skate and decided to stop wasting the extra ammo on the interceptors lol. Moving divisions around is more of a PITA compared to bombers though.. I love bombers. Most of us lazy guys do haha.
