I believe that all federations should stick strictly to diplomacy to solve international crisis and use military might only as a very last resort. But even if all federations took such a stand for peace there would still be strife. but i firmly believe all trouble can be won with negotiations (with the exception of a few players). we all need to be ready to respond to crisis like this by allowing angered players to vent out their destructive urge on perhaps an unimportant slave country.

for example.

lets say we have a large 14 nation empire called terraforma who is having trouble with a noob with an uncontrollable urge to try out the military portion of the game on a fellow player. instead of instantly wiping the destructive noob off the face of simcountry, the president of terraforma chooses his most weakest, and economically useless slave country in his empire and allow the noob to vent his destructive urges on said nation and only that nation. if the noob tries for another country terraforma promised to knock him back to the bronze age but if he stays with just that country he can nuke it to his hearts content until he no longer has the desire to be a dribbling suicidal lunatic. the agreement is made and a massive war is prevented.

if only we can do as terraforma did and find a way to help destructive noobs let loose the destructive desires they feel. we could probably prevent a lot of the resource draining wars that constantly break out.

its just a thought.

anybody here want to put up a country to allow a bad boy/girl vent their "uncontrollable urge"? don't think so. history is full of examples of nations allowing rogues to vent their "uncontrollable urge" with the result that it only fans the fires of those urges. it may be that talking to a noob and pointing out that they can attack a c3 if they need to vent, but that to attack an active has consequences. many nOObs think sim is some kind of pissing match where they can get away with trash talk and aggression without consequences. that's not the case. most all seasoned players are willing to help new players learn the game, but we won't put up with the kind of behavior you suggest. and oh yes, war is a part of the game.
