I attacked a country with no president. I got the war index to 10 but I need 0 to take over. No matter what I did at that point the index did not go down - population, cities, defenses, all the corps were gone. Can someone tell me why I could not move the index?

What's your country and the C3 you're trying to take over?

Why?
By the way I saw in another post that a person attacked the other country with a long range battalion. I used an offensive battalion. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Ok, I found you Mr. President of "The State of Confusion" :D

I'm guessing you're going up against the United Kingdom of Koalla. You might have attacked the defenses of the corps and etc. but you didn't attack the objectives themselves. When you click on those targets in war page, click to destroy them, not destroying their defenses. Got it?

Now start doing that for the fortifications.

I see that you did not mention painting the map. Its best to land a SF unit into the country and start moving them around to capture land.It is a must have in all wars and in total has the potential to drop the enemy by 25 points. Both Zen and Aries have a war guide in the Beginner section of the forum that I highly suggest you read.

Yes.
You need to invade and "paint" at least part of the country.

also, on the war page, you can see details about the war index.
You can see where you damaged your enemy and where the remaining war index points are.
You could have seen that the remaining 10 points are linked to invading the country.

I had an offensive unit running around the country but it did not paint it. It was an battalion. Maybe too small?

Im not 100% sure on that, did the unit have at least 1 weapon that was not destroyed?

If your unit is there, it should "paint" areas it passes.
If not, I would like to see it.
Please give us if it happens, the name of the country and the name of the unit.

Okay, just to let you guys know, I used a long range division this time and things went fine. That is except for all the construction I need to repair the damage I did taking the country over.

If it aint't on this it's another.
