I havent fought a war in simcountry in years, and clearly its changed a lot. What is the best way to win a war? I've seem to have lost like my entire army and I can't understand why I can barley make any progress. Im used to going straight to bombing the towns and forts.... is that not wise anymore? Suggestions and major pointers are needed here

Yeah thats a good start Heisenberg but really some things have changed; like garrisons becoming heavier and also now need to destroy a path for occupation of destroy cities/forts/bases in way of occupation which includes clear the garrison, and the targets in the way.

It should just be garrisons to destroy but apparently its also you have to destroy them. :/ not to fun takes longer then just clearing the garrison.

So before I start bombing a town, I need to send in ground forces to clear an occupation path to the target, then start bombing? I read the Aries article and they said the country cant be adjacent to you?

I figured it was the players first war. I didn't think much had changed, according to GM. I had war level 0 on KB resulting in it being my "first war" there. Did not receive much resistance. I didn't have to destroy any garrisons either. Quality of attacking weapons may be an issue, as I used 450 quality weaponry.

My best possible advice is to kill int's then attack defenses before you attack the targets themselves. With high Q weaponry it should results in minimal losses if you killed int's.

Attack corporation defenses with bomber and fighter wings to clear out the interceptor units then fighter units to take out the helicopter units.

In response to Galdriel's question. Basically when you fight a war with a c3 that is bordering your country their air defenses are much stronger than when you are fighting a war with a country that is not directly next to the country you are attacking it with. I don't know why this is, but trust me there is a huge difference and I suggest to not fight a country next to yours unless you use long range divisions with medium range missile batteries and offensive anti aircraft batteries.

Basically Aries was saying to set up air transport units consisting of 25 transport planes each. Along with special forces units. So if you have 4 special forces units, you'll need 100 transport planes to make 4 air transport units. You can airdrop those special forces in the country you're attacking and those special forces units are only to paint or occupy territory. Thanks so much everyone for giving me suggestions!! I want to take over the country next to me first. So the basic list of things I need to get are...

500 bombers and fighters (just for safe keeping) at quality of about 440
An additional wing of 250 fighters same quality
400q of 500 medium range missile bats and 400q of 630 off anti air bats
3 normal 400q long range divisions

I think my issue was the quality. I wanted weapons fast for a huge army, so i hit the "buy supplies now" button and I'm assuming it bought the quickest thing off the market.

Use the bomber/fighter wing on towns to attack defenses until the inters stop responding, then the fighter wing to directly take them out while pushing long range divisions into the border. At what point do I have my divisions start attacking targets? After I'm done with my bombing/air campaign?

The highest quality you can order is 330q I use 330q weapons and ammo and it's just fine.

You should only invest using higher quality weapons and ammo in PVP and C3 wars level 4+ since it involves a lot of time and money per weapon/ammo to upgrade from just buying it at 330q. Unless it's more expensive weapons like stealth bombers and conventional missile batteries. Which you should buy at 120q and upgrade over time.

I see. Am I able to upgrade my current arms? Or do I need to destroy my arsenal and buy new arms?

Yes you go to army then go to army fighting levels. From there you can set levels up to 450q for regular forces. You can only do these for units that are set up and deployed. But beware once you set up a unit and start upgrading it, do not dismantle it. All of your upgrades will be lost.
