Shoutout to Mr Coreleone who agreed to set up some wars on Fearless Blue.

We've agreed on using three countries each, and wars will be able to be declared starting Wednesday.

Some goals I have are:

1. Test changes to air defenses
2. Test some weapons systems I don't have tons of experience with
3. Provide feedback on the war engine afterward. All six countries in the war are likely to be top 10 to top 15 in war rank by the time war starts, this is is probably about as a good a test of large-scale conflict as you might expect to see. I already have some items I'd like to comment on but this will provide a good format and test.

Feel free to watch along and reach out to me/us if you have questions.

Countries being used by me:

YOU BETTER BE SORRY! :P

JK. Btw didn't get to test out the batts. Can send back. :)

Thanks again to Mr Coreleone for scheduling the fight. I will be posting some thoughts about the war engine based on the battles we fought soon. Just going to sit on my thoughts and write them out.

If anyone is curious about anything in particular, feel free to dm. I an share what happened, why, how etc.

If you can afford it, FB battling can be really fun and interesting!

Some thoughts and reflections about the battles fought with Mr Coreleone:

1. While I was able to use air units with some success, offensive air unit *size* is not good enough in my opinion. They should be a little larger. The biggest offensive wing you can make is 770 weapons. 850 would be a better number.
You can get 1970 in an offensive ground division, so they're almost always significantly more effective.

2. I very much like how ground-based defensive weapons work now. Ground defense makes much more sense with weapons moving around in divisions. The old system of requiring static garrisons at everything wasn't efficient and wasn't very interactive.
- Coreleone fielded a strong defense utilizing divisions. He was able to respond to attacks and move around with his defense. I've not fought much since changes were made to defenses to allow this, and Coreleone took advantage of the changes. This was the strength of his defense.

3. Weapon ranges are not great. With the lower number of players now, you're 99% guaranteed to be out of range for almost all attacks except air and missile attacks. Changes were made to do things like improve tanks, but those weapon systems are mostly irrelevant for pvp wars. Airlifting is good but there are ways to counter it, it's slow, and really difficult to reinforce. Ground warfare is extremely difficult to pull off for all but the most experienced players as is.

4. Being able to declare war on only 1 c3 at a time is quite limiting. I wish this number was 3. It won't functionally allow you to block off your country or countries, but does allow you actually fight an opponent. Coreleone's countries were in two locations, and I essentially could only fight one at a time. I had to declare war on a c3, move stuff there, and then when done, unpack everything, ship it home, and start over. All during a war.

5. Navies continue to be too expensive and too useless for almost every circumstance. Air units are too small in my opinion, as I noted earlier, and naval units are even smaller. Battles and firing is about the numbers game, more on your side and less on opponent side = good. Navies = less weapons on your side, = bad.

6. Federated and / or combined arm defenses are still virtually unstoppable. 1 division and 1 wing responding together will generate almost complete losses on an attacker. I got through this by running through opposition ammo and / or targeting stuff at the edges where I only had to fight a low number of responding divisions. I could then focus down air d before moving back to fighting divisions. The only good thing is the range of defensive ground units is not huge, so you can find places where the coverage isn't so complete.

I may have other thoughts, and have no clue if anyone reads this (including Andy), but I figured I'd provide thoughts since wars of the scale just fought are so rare.
