White Giant is not particularly a competitive world in my experience.

It's pretty competitive, but not militarily. There are only two major federations, who get on well with each other.

WG is more a world to come and play peacefully to build a prosperous empire. The competition is for prosperity and score, rather than who can beat the cr*p out of each other the most :)
